The third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and the second-ranked Michigan Wolverines will face off in the Orange Bowl for the College Football Playoff Semifinals on Friday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
Both the Bulldogs and the Wolverines are 12-1 this season and should be able to have a very competitive game here.
Georgia at Michigan Betting Preview
Bulldogs Are Roaring
The Georgia Bulldogs have been playing extremely well offensively as they are averaging 39.4 points and 442.8 yards per game. Senior quarterback Stetson Bennett has been playing well and keeping the ball out of harm’s way as he has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 2,325 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Freshman tight end Brock Bowers has been getting the boatload of targets as he has 71 receptions for 791 yards (16.8 yards per catch) with 11 touchdown grabs.
The Bulldogs have been one of the best defensive programs in recent memory as they are allowing 9.5 points per game and just 253.9 yards. Junior linebacker Nakobe Dean as he is tied for the Bulldogs lead with five sacks and a pair of interceptions. Georgia is full of players that can disrupt the offensive flow and should be able to do so against the Michigan offense as well.
Playing Like A Wolverine
The Wolverines have been doing extremely well offensively this season as they are averaging 37.7 points per game on 451.9 total yards of offense. They make sure to keep the defense on their toes as they have an almost identical output from the passing and running games this season.
Their best offensive weapon this season has been senior running back Hassan Haskins, as he has recorded 261 rushing attempts for 1,288 yards (4.9 yards per carry) with 20 rushing touchdowns as well as 16 catches for 116 yards (7.3 yards per reception).
Michigan has been an incredible defensive program as well this season as they are giving up 16.1 points on 316.2 total yards allowed per game. Senior defensive end Aidan Hutchison has been expected to be one of the top picks in this season’s NFL Draft, and rightfully so, as he has 14 total sacks and two forced fumbles. This Wolverines defense should be able to apply pressure and get inside of the backfield on a consistent basis.
Who to bet: Georgia Bulldogs or Michigan Wolverines?
The Georgia Bulldogs are currently being listed as 7.5 point favorites in the College Football Playoffs Semifinals against the Michigan Wolverines.
However, the Wolverines have been the better team and are even the higher-ranked program heading into this game. Georgia is 8-5 against the spread this season, while Michigan is an incredible 11-2 against the spread this year.
The Bulldogs defense is struggling a bit towards the end of the season compared to the rest of the season as they are giving up 16.3 points in their previous four games while the Wolverines are allowing 14.4 points in their last five games.
All in all, go with the Michigan Wolverines to cover the spread and potentially win this game outright.
