Georgia vs. South Carolina Betting Analysis
Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs started out the season as the AP third-ranked team but quickly moved to second after their 49-3 thumping over Oregan who by the way went on to score 70 points a week later.
After Alabama struggled last week, edging out a 20-19 victory over unranked Texas and their backup quarterback, Georgia moved to the top-ranked team in the nation, beating Samford 38-3.
Georgia Bulldogs Stats
The Georgia football stats have been impressive this year. Especially on the defensive side of the ball, where they have dominated as usual, but could this be the greatest Bulldogs offense in their school history.
Georgia has the number one scoring defense in the country, allowing 1.5 PPG. The Bulldogs are the only team on the FBS level to not allow a touchdown.
Regardless of who they played, 82-6 is absolute dominance, especially when one of those teams goes on to score 70 points.
Bulldogs’ Offense
The greatest Georgia offense talks kind of came to a halt after week two when the Bulldogs “only” scored 33 points against Samford.
Georgia can improve on their red zone offense as they looked confused and left some touchdowns on the board against Samford.
The Bulldogs have been a more grind-it-out-run-the-ball team this year and haven’t had a 40+ yard play all season but they are 6th among teams with only two games played putting together 39 10+ yard plays.
Georgia is also leading the SEC with 7.6 yards per play and Stetson Bennett leads the conference, averaging 10.3 yards per attempt. The Bulldogs are averaging 395 yards a game.
South Carolina Gamecocks
It was a rough outing for the South Carolina Gamecocks against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Gamecocks had moments but were outplayed by the 16th-ranked team in the country.
Spencer Ratter, the quarterback for the Gamecocks had plenty of inconsistencies in the passing game with a final stat line of 24-39 for 379 yards, a touchdown, and an interception on a bad read.
He and South Carolina showed some promising signs in the second half, finding some up-tempo rhythm really helping them get back in the game.
Gamecoks’ Offensive Line
The offensive line was a disaster for the Gamecocks. Ratter spent much of the night on the grass and they couldn’t find rhythm in the run games.
The worst part of the Gamecocks was their run defense. They allowed Arkansas running back Rocket Sanders to go for 156 yards and two scores on the ground and will have to improve significantly in that area if they are to have any chance against the Bulldogs.
