We have a great NCAAF game on our hands for Christmas Eve. Even though you have not heard of these two teams that much this year, it will be a great game to watch.
The Aztecs ran into Jalen Mayden last year, a safety who transferred from Mississippi State to the Aztecs, started as quarterback in October, and led the team to a 5-2 record.
The Blue Raiders are a team with a solid defensive line but a mediocre secondary.
The Blue Raiders rank inside the top 30 in tackles for loss and defensive line yards this season while having the 92nd-lowest defensive pass success rate.
San Diego State’s offensive line performs dreadfully, ranking 94th in sacks allowed and 120th in line yards. This will give Chase Cunnigham the opportunity to throw all over the Aztec defense.

Middle Tennessee vs. San Diego State Prediction shows so many different angles to the game.
Teams’ Offenses Performance Recap
The Middle Tennessee offense is unpredictable and runs the ball down the field with quarterback Chase Cunningham.
This offense has a strong passing game and moves quickly, ranking 14th in plays per minute this year.
Although the Aztecs have a solid defense that is in the top 30 in terms of yards per play allowed, the Blue Raiders will be able to move the ball down the field to generate a few scoring opportunities.
This could hurt the San Diego State Aztecs because, in the Mountain West, San Diego State has not encountered many pass-heavy offenses, but in non-conference games, the Aztecs let up more than 30 points.
The Aztecs allowed Utah, Arizona, and Fresno State to come back late and win those games. Although the Blue Raiders’ offense is not PAC-12-caliber, it is obvious that passing-capable teams can compete with the Aztecs, which is hard to tell because the Mountain West offenses are not the greatest.
We will learn a lot about both teams on Saturday because they play in very different conferences.
Last Game Record
San Diego Last Game Record
The last game for the Aztecs ended terribly with a loss to the Air Force Academy 13-3. After coming off a three-game win streak, the Academy was able to smash it and not allow anything offensive to happen.
During the Aztecs, last game, their quarterback Jalen Mayden only gave 188 yards passing that game. The worst part of the whole game was the run game, where Jordan Byrd only ran for 13 yards.
Middle Tennessee Last Game Record
The last game for the Blue Raiders ended well against Florida International. In this game, the Blue Raiders were able to put 33 points up on the board and win the game 33-28.
The man during that game was Chase Cunningham, who could throw for 279 yards.
He also had some help on the run game, with Darius Bracy giving the Blue Raiders 91 yards of rushing. The Blue Raiders are on a three-game win streak going into Saturday’s bowl game.
Middle Tennessee vs. San Diego State Betting Analysis
Middle Tennessee vs. San Diego State Prediction must go towards the Aztecs. With their loss against the Academy, I see them fighting to win a bowl game this year. Jalen Mayden has been able to put up some numbers this year with 1,721 passing yards and ten touchdowns.
We will have to watch out for Mayden’s interceptions because he has seven on the year. On the other side of the ball, watch for Chase Cunningham because he has racked up 2,920 passing yards with 19 touchdowns this season.
Another thing to look at is the college football injuries, which the Blue Raiders have A.J. Toney with an unknown injury.
There has yet to be any confirmation that he will or will not be suiting up on Saturday. For the Aztecs, there has been no players out since TJ Sullivan in the beginning of the season with a knee injury.
Odds Breakdown
The NCAAF odds for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have them placed at +6.5 for Saturday’s game. The Blue Raiders moneyline pick is at +215.
Middle Tennessee’s prediction for the moneyline this game is pretty low, which could interest some bettors during the games on Saturday.
The San Diego State Aztecs odds are at -6.5 against the Blue Raiders. The Aztecs moneyline pick will be at -265.
They have a touchdown margin because Vegas knows these bowl games always come to the fourth quarter.
Middle Tennessee vs. San Diego State Betting Pick and Prediction
These will be my college football picks and parlays. I will be going with San Diego State at -6.5.
I am going with this pick because I believe that Jalen Mayden will turn it around after his last game against Air Force. The Aztecs can bounce back from that loss close to a month ago.
Who to Bet On?
Middle Tennessee vs. San Diego State Prediction has the next pick being the over to this game which is set at 49.5 right now.
This will hit because both teams have quarterbacks willing to throw the ball across the field.
With this being another bowl game and the hype that should be around this game, there will be many passing touchdowns.
NCAAF Pick: Over 49.5 (-110)
