Power Shifts and Conference Realignments: Who Benefits in the College Football Playoff Expansion?
The NCAA football schedule is going to be a thrilling one. We cannot wait for the action on the field to start, as we anticipate some great games, and action, as we prepare for more teams to make the College Football playoff in 2025. As we prepare for the season, we want to give some of the best teams for the upcoming ncaaf season we think you should watch:

Georgia Bulldogs +300
Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs are once again one of the most talented teams in all of College Football. The Bulldogs have some “loose cannons” as they just had a couple others in trouble away from the field. But, there is no doubt that this team is very good. The Bulldogs should be able to compete with any and all the competition on both sides of the ball. The Bulldogs are in the rugged SEC, but are the big favorites to win their third title in four seasons.
Ohio State Buckeyes +420
Ryan Day has a ton of pressure on him and the rest of his staff coming into the 2024-2025 season. Ohio State has been surpassed by its rivals Michigan the last couple of seasons. Ohio State had a huge recruiting year and a massive transfer portal time. Now, the Buckeyes need to take care of business on the field. With the addition of a couple of new teams in the Big Ten, the NCAAF schedule will look a little different, but this is the team to beat out of the Big Ten in 2024. Ohio State is listed at +420.
Oregon Ducks +800
Dan Lanning and his Oregon Ducks are ready to prove they are one of the best teams in the nation. Oregon is now a member of the Big Ten. They will be challenged early and often, but the still level the Ducks have is unrivaled by most teams they will play. The Ducks are on the verge, and bringing a national title to Eugene has been said to be priceless. Let’s see if Lanning staying loyal to the Ducks will pay dividends this season.
Texas Longhorns +850
The Longhorns also made a conference move this off-season. Gone are the days of the Big 12, and now, the SEC comes calling. Texas is going to be thrown right into the fire against some great programs. It will be interesting to see if Coach Sarkaisian can get the Longhorns back among the best of the teams in College Football in the first season in the new conference. Many forget this team was right there in the picture for a title a season ago.
Alabama Crimson Tide +1500
The first season without Nick Saban is going to be quite strange. Interesting is another word, but strange is the best term for it. The Tide will still have plenty of talent for coach Kalen DeBoer. Alabama is going to be in for a challenge going through the SEC gauntlet. The Crimson Tide start the season with the fifth-best odds in College Football, and third in their own conference.
Ole Miss Rebels +1500
Another SEC squad. This one led by Lane Kiffin. Can Kiffin and his Ole Miss Rebels figure it out on the defensive side enough to compete. With 12 teams making the College Football playoff now, there likely is room for a third team from the same conference to make it in. That could be the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels come into the season at +1500 to win the College Football playoff.
LSU Tigers +1700
The fifth SEC team in seven. Brian Kelly and his Tigers are going to start right away with a tough task. The Tigers are not shy to schedule solid competition early. The loss of Jaylen Daniels is a big factor, but can they move on and be successful early on with a new signal caller? The Tigers are 17/1.
Penn State Nittany Lions +2000
The third Big Ten team on the list. The Nittany Lions, led by head coach James Franklin, continue to play the quiet role. They are one of the best teams in the country, but have yet to punch their ticket. With 12 teams making it, this is a team to look out for.
