The Baltimore Ravens, during Lamar Jackson’s tenure as the quarterback, were finally able to take down the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions were unable to put a complete game together against Green Bay and took an 18 point loss to move to 0-2. Let’s take a look to this Ravens at Lions betting preview.
Ravens Carry the Momentum into Detroit
Sunday Night Football seems to always bring out the best in football players. Whether it’s the bright lights or the build-up of having to wait all day to play, the best football games seem to be played on Sunday night. The Ravens were able to put that on full display when they went into Kansas City and put on a show.
Lamar Jackson had a rough start, but after the first quarter, he was fantastic. Jackson was 18 for 26 for 239 yards and a passing touchdown. He added 107 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns as well. Marquise Brown hauled in six receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.
The Ravens defense still has some work to do. Their secondary got torched for over 340 yards and three touchdowns; however, they were able to get a big interception on a third-down play to flip the field for Jackson and the offense. The biggest play of the game came from linebacker Odafe Oweh forced a fumble with under two minutes left with the Chiefs in field goal range.
Detroit Needs to Put a Full Game Together
Another game where it is a tale of two halves for the Lions. Detroit took a three-point lead into halftime, winning at all aspects of the game. Unfortunately, several errors allowed the Green Bay Packers to get right back into the game and go one to win 35-17. The Lions, who had scored two touchdowns in the first half, were unable to put any points on the board in the second half.
Jared Goff’s first half was just about as good as anyone could have expected. He was 13 of 16 for 137 yards and two touchdowns. His final stat line reads 26 of 36 for 246 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. He also had a fumbled snap late in the third quarter that he was unable to recover, which led to another Packers touchdown.
While the offense was not great, the defense for the Lions is in a world of hurt. Aaron Jones had his way with this Lions defense, running for 67 yards on limited carries while also adding 48 yards receiving and four total touchdowns. The Lions are in for a long game if they can not stop the run, taking on the league’s best rushing quarterback in Lamar Jackson.
The Picks
At the time of writing this, there is no line out currently for this game. If the spread is single digits, it will be a must-take for the Baltimore Ravens. They have shown to be one of the most dominant offenses this season, and Detroit does not have the weapons to keep up with them.
As far as the over/under goes, expect this line to sit somewhere around 54-56. If it stays under 54, the over is the play here. Baltimore’s defense has its occasional blunders, which will allow the Lions to score a few points. Baltimore should be in the same regard offensively as the Packers, so 35 or more for them is not out of the question alone.
