There’s also always a chance that several franchises which started the season slowly will figure things out and turn the season around. Here’s a look at some of the best NFL picks for Week 4.
Early Risers
The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints will kick off Sunday morning with a 9:30 a.m. matchup in London. Saints quarterback Jameis Winston has hit a rough patch after a difficult start to the season. Over his past two games, NFL player stats show Winston has thrown five interceptions.
On the season, Winston has piled up 858 yards passing but hasn’t helped the Saints finish drives. New Orleans has only scored 24 points over its past two games.
Running Back Is Questionable
Minnesota rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Lions at home. The Vikings running back is questionable for Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury.
Minnesota has played well outside the United States, winnings in its last two games in London in 2013 and 2016. The Vikings are 2.5-point favorites and should take advantage of a struggling Saints offense to grab a victory.
NFC West Showdown
The Los Angeles Rams rolled over Arizona last weekend and seemed to have recovered from the disappointing loss to the Buffalo Bills to open the season.
A week after Jimmy Garoppolo appeared in relief to lead San Francisco to a win over Seattle, the 49ers and their quarterback looked out of sync against the Denver Broncos last Sunday night.
When it comes to best NFL bets in Week 4, taking a look at the Rams +2.5 would be a solid choice on the road.
NFL Teams Stats
NFL team stats show San Francisco’s offense has had a difficult time this season. The 49ers’ passing attack especially has struggled since Kyle Shanahan took over play calling.
San Francisco ranks 29th in the league in passing yards, throwing for 172.7 yards per game. The 49ers have also struggled with turnovers, giving the ball away four times.
The Rams’ offense is still searching for consistency in the running game. Los Angeles is 30th in the NFL by averaging 72.3 rushing yards per game. Having Matthew Stafford under center should help the Rams grab the win on the road.
Packers Set to Take Advantage
NFL odds show Green Bay is a 10-point favorite over New England and should be ready to take advantage of the Patriots.
On the last offensive play for the New England Patriots last week, quarterback Mac Jones suffered a high ankle sprain and will likely be out for a few weeks. When it comes to best NFL bets Week 4, taking Aaron Rodgers and the Packers is a good spot at home.
Packers’ Offense
Green Bay Packers showed last week with how it played defense against Tampa Bay that teams will have a hard time scoring against the Packers.
The Patriots will have to lean heavily on their defense, which struggled against Baltimore last week. However, Rodgers doesn’t have the mobility Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson does.
While the Patriots’ defense won’t make things easy for Green Bay, New England quarterback Brian Hoyer will have a hard time keeping up with the Packers’ offense.
Danger-Russ?
Having watched the Denver Broncos this season would make anyone who was betting NFL Week 4 odds leery of backing the team and veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.
Nathaniel Hackett has struggled in his new role as head coach, and the team’s offense hasn’t seemed to fit Wilson. The Las Vegas Raiders have their own offensive issues.
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr seems to have regressed. He’s passed for 850 yards and six touchdowns thus far but has also thrown four interceptions.
Carr has also been sacked seven times so far this season. The Raiders are the only 0-3 team in the NFL. For Las Vegas to turn things around and win at home, it will need to get Davante Adams more involved.
Raiders’ Wide Receiver
The wide receiver, who was a top target for the Raiders in free agency, has been targeted 34 times and caught 17 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns.
Despite Denver’s offensive struggles, it is worth betting the Broncos at +123 to capitalize on the Raiders’ slow start.
