The third and final NFL preseason games are happening. Football fans are a mere two weeks away from regular season football getting kicked off.
The Chicago Bears will head to Cleveland to take on the Browns on Sunday night. The kick-off for this game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. eastern from FirstEnergy Stadium. Let’s look at the Browns vs. Bears betting stats.
’22 Season
The Chicago Bears are under a completely new regime heading into the ’22 season. This last preseason game will give them one more opportunity to make sure they have finalized everything needed for a successful season.
The Browns have been in the headlines almost all season after the signing of Deshaun Watson. While the decision is finalized on an 11-game suspension, this game will be the first one where they know for sure that Jacoby Brissett is their starting quarterback.
Bears vs. Browns Betting Stats
Bears Stats
The Bears got a big win in their latest NFL matchups against the Seattle Seahawks. The Bears got their starters a little bit of work while also making sure everyone needed time to prove themselves.
In his second year in the league, Justin Fields has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. In his last preseason game, he was able to complete five of seven passes for just under 40 yards.
Bears Fans
While it is great to see Fields on the field getting reps in, Bears fans have to be nervous. Every week Fields is not on the NFL injury report gives them their best chance at success.
De’Monte Tuggle, a player fighting for a roster spot, ran the ball very well last game. He was given 12 rushing attempts and was able to accumulate 41 rushing yards.
NFL Stats
Isaiah Coulter is another guy on the team trying to make it to the league. His NFL stats from the game read three receptions on six targets for 39 yards.
The defense did not record any turnovers in their last game. If the Bears are going to be competitive at all this season, they will need that defense to be better.
Brown Stats
The Cleveland Browns were on the opposite side in their last game. While they were able to keep it close, the Browns would go on to lose 20-21 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
During this game, the Browns were very conservative about who took snaps at quarterback. While there was still a chance Watson could come back, they also did not want Brissett to risk anything either, so they both sat the whole game.
Joshua Dobbs put in a solid day under center. He was able to complete 14 of 20 passes for 141 yards. While he did not throw any touchdowns, he also did not throw any interceptions.
Fight for a Roster Spot
John Kelly Jr. is a player for the Browns who is fighting to make a roster spot. While he is not currently listed on the depth chart, Kelly Jr. had a solid performance in their last game.
He was able to run for 66 yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown. David Bell has three receptions for the Browns. He recorded 46 yards in those three receptions while only being targeted four times.
The defense for Cleveland did not record any interceptions. They were limited in pressure as well, recording just a single sack.
