Week 3 of the NFL ends with an old-fashioned NFC rivalry game in Dallas Monday night when the Cowboys welcome Philadelphia to AT&T Stadium. First place in the division is up for grabs in this early season conference game as both teams enter with 1-1 marks.
After an impressive win against Atlanta in Week 1, the Eagles stumbled last week with a 17-11 setback against San Francisco.
The Cowboys flipped the script last week with a last-second win over Los Angeles (A) after falling to Tampa Bay in the closing moments in Week 1.
Game Odds
BetUs has Dallas as a 3.5-point favorite Monday night with -105 odds to cover the spread. Bettors taking the Eagle’s side will have -115 odds to cover.
On the Moneyline, Dallas is -175, while Philly sits at +155 with an outright win. BetUs has also set the Over/Under at 51.5 points with -110 odds on either side of the number.
Hurts So Good
Eagles’ second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts is leading the way through the first two weeks. Hurts has completed 39 of 58 passes for 454 yards with three touchdowns and is also the teams’ leading rusher with 144 yards on 17 totes.
The dual-threat QB accounted for the Eagles’ only touchdown last week, with a rush in part of his 82-yard rushing day to go along with 190 passing yards.
Ground Game Moving in Right Direction
After its season-opening loss to Tampa Bay, Dallas knew it needed to place more of an emphasis on the running game. The Cowboys did just that last week as they racked up 198 yards on the ground.
Tony Pollard led the way with 109 yards on 13 carriers, while Ezekiel Elliott added 16 carries for 71 yards. Both running backs finished with a touchdown, both coming in the first half.
Who’s No. 3?
As important as the Cowboys’ running game is to the overall success of the team, Dallas is still going to need big numbers from quarterback Dak Prescott. Through the first two weeks, Prescott has completed 65 of 85 passes for 640 yards and three touchdowns.
But with Micheal Gallup on the short-term injured reserve list, the Cowboys need a third option in the passing game besides CeeDee Lamb (15 receptions, 185 yards, one touchdown) and Amari Cooper (16-163-2).
Tight end Dalton Schultz is third on the team with eight receptions and 63 yards, while Pollard has seven receptions out of the backfield for 60 yards.
Even Steven
Through the first two games, Philadelphia is even in the turnover battle. The Eagles are the only team in the league who does not have a turnover on the season, which also means they do not have a takeaway on the season either. Jacksonville is the only other team that has yet to record a takeaway.
Dallas leads the league with a +4 margin in the turnover battle, forcing six takeaways while turning over the ball twice.
