The Green Bay Packers will travel to State Farm Stadium on Thursday night to take on the Arizona Cardinals in an NFC matchup. The Packers are leading the NFC North with a 6-1 record after defeating the Washington Football Team 24-10.
Aaron Rodgers finished 27-of-35 for 274 yards and three touchdowns. The Cardinals lead the NFC West with a perfect 6-0 record after defeating the Houston Texans 31-5. Kyler Murray finished going 20-of-28 for 261 yards with three touchdowns and an interception.
Solid Running Game
The Green Bay Packers have an incredible rusher in running back Aaron Jones. So far this season, he has 83 carries for 385 yards (4.6 yards per rush) and two touchdowns, as well as 21 receptions for 166 receiving yards (7.9 yards per catch) and four touchdown receptions.
In his last game against Washington, Jones finished with six rushes for 19 yards (3.2 yards per carry) and five catches for 20 yards (4.0 yards per reception). He needs to be more involved in the offense if they want to win.
The Green Bay Packers have been a solid defensive team as they are giving up 20.9 points per game. In their previous game against the Washington Football Team, they allowed 10 points on 430 total yards of offense (235 passing, 195 rushing).
The Packers need to improve on 6.7 rushing yards allowed per carry if they want to win on the road here.
Best in the League?
The Arizona Cardinals have one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in DeAndre Hopkins. So far this season, he has 26 receptions for 367 yards (14.1 yards per catch) and six receiving touchdowns.
In his last game against the Texans, Hopkins had seven catches on nine targets for 53 yards (7.6 yards per reception) and a touchdown. If he can be more impactful in this game, it will do wonders for the Arizona offense.
The Arizona Cardinals have been a solid defensive team as they are allowing 18.2 points per game this year. In their previous game against the Houston Texans, they gave up five points on 160 total yards of offense (118 passing, 42 rushing).
If the Cardinals can continue to defend well as they gave up 3.3 yards per play, they will remain undefeated.
Who to Bet on Packers at Cardinals
The Cardinals are a perfect 7-0 this season and are coming off one of the more dominant performances that a team can have. These offenses have been incredible while the defenses have been doing very well this season and arguably are the reason there is only one loss between these two teams halfway through the season.
However, Green Bay is an incredibly talented team that, since their Week 1 debacle, look like arguably the best team in the NFL. This game is going to be extremely close, so I’m going to go with the Green Bay Packers coming in as over a field goal underdog to cover the spread.
