The Cincinnati Bengals will travel to Metlife Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on the New York Jets in a Week 8 matchup. The Bengals are leading the AFC North with a 5-2 record and are coming off a 41-17 road win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Joe Burrow finished going 23-of-38 for 416 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. The Jets are third in the AFC East with a 1-5 record.
Mike White entered the game after Zach Wilson went down with a PCL injury and went 20-of-32 for 202 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in his NFL debut.
Chasing Glory
The Cincinnati Bengals love to get the ball in the hands of rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase as he has 35 receptions for 754 yards (21.5 yards per catch) with six touchdowns.
In his last game against the Baltimore Ravens, he finished with eight receptions for ten targets for 201 yards (25.1 yards per catch) with a touchdown. If the Bengals can continue to throw the ball Chase’s way, it will really help the Cincy offense.
The Cincinnati Bengals have been a stellar defensive team this season as they are giving up 18.3 points per game. In their previous game against the Baltimore Ravens, they allowed 17 points on 393 total yards of offense (278 passing, 115 rushing).
The Ravens struggled as they went 5-of-16 on third down and 1-of-4 on fourth down attempts. They need to stop the rushing attack as Baltimore went 4.8 rushing yards per attempt. If they can figure out how to stop the run, they will be great.
Wide Out Needs to Lead
The New York Jets need to improve, and having wide receiver Corey Davis definitely helps. So far this season, he has 24 receptions for 349 yards (14.5 yards per catch) with four touchdowns.
In his last game against the New England Patriots, he finished with four catches on six targets with 47 yards (11.8 yards per reception) and a touchdown. If he can continue to help a rookie quarterback, it will help the Jets make strides this season.
The New York Jets have been struggling defensively this season as they are allowing 29.2 points per game so far. In their last game against the New England Patriots, they allowed 54 points on 551 total yards of offense (403 passing, 148 rushing).
The Jets need to get stops as the Patriots went 7-of-12 on third down and converted their only fourth down attempt. New York needs to improve as they allowed New England to finish with 7.4 yards per play.
Who to Bet Jets at Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the better teams in the entire league and should be able to dominate here. The Jets are 1-5 against the spread this season, while the Bengals are 4-3 against the spread. New York is down to their backup quarterback, and their defense is giving up 32.8 points per game in their last four outings.
Joe Burrow has figured out how to be a top quarterback and limit mistakes. All in all, go with the Cincinnati Bengals to cover the spread on the road here against the New York Jets.
