Pick Analysis
Last season, the San Francisco 49ers won the NFC Championship over the Detroit Lions, making it the 49ers’ third consecutive appearance in the NFC Championship Game.
However, the 49ers failed to win the other two games. They won and played the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl this time.
Ultimately, the 49ers lost, but they’ve been a great bet to at least compete for the NFC.
Over the last five seasons, the 49ers have made the NFC Championship four times and won two of those five NFC Championship Games, earning a Super Bowl appearance in 40% of the last five seasons.
The 49ers have played the Green Bay Packers twice. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers, Rams, Eagles, and Lions have all made the NFC Championship Game once over the last five seasons.
While the 49ers are consistent, the rest of the NFC isn’t. So, who should you choose if you don’t want to back the 49ers to win the NFC Championship?
Here’s the NFC Championship odds training camp update before the season begins.

NFC Championship Analysis
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco offense hasn’t changed much from a year ago. But that’s fine. They’re led by the best running back in the NFL, Christian McCaffrey, and they still have Deebo Samuel as a wide receiver.
Ultimately, the big question mark is Brandon Aiyuk. It’s unclear if he’ll sign with the 49ers or head somewhere else. But for now, he’s still on the 49ers’ roster.
Meanwhile, the defense is still elite. It’s led by Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, and Dre Greenlaw, to name a few. The 49ers have built a legitimate franchise and consistently win because of it.
Detroit Lions
The Lions were so close to winning the NFC Championship Game last season that they’ll be in the race again this year.
The offense was electric, with Jared Goff under center. He’s got a bunch of young receivers and a solid duo at running back behind him between David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Ultimately, the defense will need to be more consistent, but the Lions have made some adjustments that lead us to believe it will be better after all.
Philadelphia Eagles
Many media members and fans were excited after the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley at running back. While Barkley is a terrific running back, his production has been limited throughout his career. Either he’s injured or struggles to find openings.
While that has some to do with the Giants’ offensive line, Barkley feels replaceable. We don’t think he moves the needle for the Eagles.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have a roster good enough to make it to the NFC Championship Game. But you can be a bit worried after seeing Dak Prescott in a boot during the offseason.
It was apparently for precautionary reasons, but that could also be a lie. I would suggest ignoring the Cowboys’ NFL betting lines from BetUS.
What About The Other Teams?
The Green Bay Packers can take a massive leap with Jordan Love this year. The run game was weak for Green Bay, but with Josh Jacobs on the team now, that could change the entire dynamic of the offense.
You also can’t rule out the Atlanta Falcons. They’ve got a lot of weapons but never knew how to utilize them. With Raheem Morris as head coach and Kirk Cousins as quarterback, those young weapons will be used much more now.
Finally, don’t put too much stock into Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. Rookies hardly ever perform at a high level in the first couple of weeks. His weak early play will hurt Chicago’s chances of even making the playoffs.

Training Camp: NFC Championship Odds and Betting Picks
It feels like Detroit’s year. The Lions fell short of the Super Bowl last season, and now they’re hungry for more.
The Lions added multi-year extensions for Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jared Goff, and Penei Sewell. They also added defensive help in the NFL Draft with Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Additionally, the front office brought in Carlton Davis III and Amik Robertson, two veterans who should also help the defense.
The offense won’t have trouble scoring. The defense needs to perform better. This year, all signs are pointing up for the Detroit defense.
That’s why our NFL expert picks include the Lions at +550 to win the NFC.
