NFL Offensive Player of the Year Odds Analysis
The NFL Offensive Player of the Year award recognizes the league’s most dominant offensive performer, often focusing on raw statistical achievements and highlight-reel plays.
Last year’s winner, Christian McCaffrey, with the second shortest odds to Tyreek Hill. Their tight race in 2023 and McCaffrey’s explosive return from injury solidified his win. However, offseason betting suggested many favored Hill’s potential breakout with the Miami Dolphins. We think that McCaffrey, in his second full season in the 49ers offense, will be a good pick to repeat for the award.
Other young stars like CeeDee Lamb, Ja’Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson can’t be discounted. Their electrifying abilities could propel them to the forefront if they maintain consistency.
Let’s dive into the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds and try to make some NFL expert picks.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year Betting Analysis
With so many potential breakout stars it is impossible to know who might win the Offensive Player of the Year. The two favorites, McCaffrey and Hill, are dynamic offensive weapons and we understand why they are leading the pack. As the NFL is becoming more offensive, NFL football trends are adjusting to offensive players being able to run and catch the ball.
McCaffrey is perhaps the best example of this in the league with the San Francisco 49ers. Last season he ran for 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns, but that wasn’t all. He also caught 67 passes for 564 total yards and seven more touchdowns.
Hill is a bit less dynamic as a runner. He caught 119 passes for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in his NFL stats last season. He only carried the ball six times for 15 yards. This is why McCaffrey has an advantage over Hill as a candidate for this award, he ran for one more touchdown than Hill caught but also added seven more in the passing game.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year Previous winners and Betting Trends
Wide receivers like Jerry Rice, Michael Thomas, Cooper Kupp, and Justin Jefferson have all won, but outside of them wide receivers have a tougher time winning the award (even though many of those wins are in recent years).
Running backs hold the most wins with 26, followed by quarterbacks at 20. Notably, 28 of the 49 winners also claimed the coveted AP NFL Most Valuable Player award in the same season. Since 2011, both honors have been presented at the NFL Honors ceremony alongside other prestigious accolades.
Here is a list of the last few winners:
| Year | Award Winner |
|---|---|
| 2013 | Peyton Manning |
| 2014 | DeMarco Murray |

NFL Offensive Player of the Year Betting Picks
Although the NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds are not that long for McCaffrey at +700, we think he has a solid shot at repeating, something that hasn’t been done since Marshall Faulk won three times in a row in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
