This is a big week for football fans all over the country. The second week of the preseason is usually the week where fans will get to see their football team’s starters for an extended period of time.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will head to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars on Saturday night. The kickoff for this game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. eastern from the TIAA Bank Field. Let’s look at the Jaguars vs. Steelers’ Best Bets.
Steelers Big Week
For the Steelers, this is a big week to get their offensive line solidified and make sure that Mitch Trubisky is ready to go under center.
The Jaguars are working through a new head coach and trying to make sure the system that Coach Doug Pederson has put in place will be ready to go for Week 1 of the NFL Schedule.

Steelers Performance Recap
The Steelers are coming off a big win in their NFL matchups against the Seattle Seahawks in their first preseason game.
While their main players did not play a lot of the game, they were able to get a good feel for the game in their few drives.
Their new starting quarterback, Mitch Trubisky, looked very good in his minimal amount of work. He was able to complete four of seven passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Anthony McFarland received a majority of the touches in the backfield for the Steelers. On seven carries, McFarland produced 56 yards.
Jaguars Performance Recap
The Jaguars took a tough loss in their last preseason game. If a person takes an actual look at the game film or the box score, however, they would know that the Jaguars were winning after the first quarter, and all of the starters were done playing.
The Jaguars actually had a 13-0 lead in the second quarter before letting the game slip away. An inability to slow anyone down in the second half, giving up 24 unanswered points, cost the Jaguars their second preseason game.
Trevor Lawerence Performance
The bright side for the Jaguars is how well Trevor Lawrence played. Lawrence completed six of twelve passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Jacksonville Jaguars did get Travis Etienne Jr. out on the field for this game. After missing the previous season due to a foot injury, Etienne is hopeful he and Lawrence can get right back on the same wavelength like they once were at Clemson.

Steelers vs. Jaguars Betting Analysis
Steelers Analysis
For the first time in 18 NFL seasons, the Steelers will not have Ben Roethlisberger on the field for them. The veteran quarterback retired after the 2021 season and turned over the reins to the young Mitch Trubisky.
Trubisky Expectations
It will be interesting to see how much time the starters get in this game and will be the overall deciding factor in this game.
In their second preseason game last season, both teams were able to get their starting quarterback more reps.
Trubisky has a chance to be great in Pittsburgh. While it may have taken fans a little extra time to jump on the Trubisky bandwagon, when talking to people at their training camp and listening to clips of their fans, it sounds like fans are ready to accept him.
Steelers Young Receiving
The Steelers have a young receiving core in Chase Claypool and George Pickens. Both players have the potential to be great wideouts this season.
Jaguars Analysis
Trevor Lawrence, in his second year with the Jaguars, will need to have a big year. While there was a ton of off-the-field drama around the Jaguars last season, Jacksonville went out and hired a proven winner in hopes of keeping the team focused this season.
Both teams will feature solid running cores if they get the opportunity to play. Etienne for the Jaguars and Najee Harris for the Steelers will be two of the best second-year running backs in all of the NFL.
Steelers vs. Jaguars Betting Pick and Prediction
Fans will have to look back at the NFL stats for this game if either team is able to make a deep NFL postseason run.
Both of these teams are under a new regime in their own way, with a new coaching staff and a new number one quarterback. When making your NFL picks, take the Pittsburgh Steelers to win this game.
