Let’s see which team is the one who takes the win on this Buccaneers at Rams betting Preview.
In a battle of undefeated teams, America’s Game of the Week will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:25pm PST and the game will be nationally televised on FOX.
The Bucs are currently slight road favourites at -1.5 on the spread, and the total for this game is listed at 55.5.
Brady Remains Ageless
Tom Brady is showing no signs of slowing down at age 44. Brady threw for five touchdowns last week against the Falcons, and has re-ignited his connection with tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Through two games, Gronk has four touchdowns and over 100 yards receiving. Look for the big guy to be a major factor in this one as Pro Bowl receiver Mike Evans will most likely be a non factor as he goes up against the best corner in the game, Jalen Ramsey.
On the ground, the Bucs are led by a two-headed monster of Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette who continue to split the load of carries. Defensively, outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul is questionable with a shoulder injury.
Stafford Looking Comfortable With New Team
There have been no signs of rust with Matt Stafford and his new teammates in log Angeles. Under Sean McVay, Stafford is moving the ball well, and has already secured an instant connection with slot receiver Cooper Kupp.
Kupp has 16 receptions for 271 yards for three touchdowns, and looks even better than he did in previous years with Jared Goff. For Stafford to have such a go-to receiver this early in the season is huge, and he also has speedy weapons like Robert Woods and DeSean Jackson flanked on the outside.
Starting running back Darrell Henderson is questionable with a rib injury, so look for Sony Michel to have a bigger workload on Sunday afternoon. Last week against the Colts, Michel ran 10 times for 46 yards. Look for the former Pats running back to get upwards of 20 carries this time around. Injury wise, Rams linebacker Leonard Floyd is also questionable for Week 3 (ankle).
Prediction
Although the Bucs offense looks unstoppable so far, they’ve played two bad defenses in Dallas and Atlanta, and won’t have the same success against the likes of Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.
Tampa’s defense hasn’t performed up to it’s capability so far, and Matt Stafford has more than enough weapons to do some damage against them. Until Todd Bowles’ unit plays like how they did in the Super Bowl against Kansas City, I will fade them on the road against legitimate Super Bowl Contenders like the Rams.
I actually believe Los Angeles should be favoured in this game, so taking them on the point spread as underdogs is a no brainer to me.
The Pick: Rams +1.5
