December 4th on the NFL schedule brings two great teams, the Titans and Eagles, together in what should be a great game between two playoff teams.
Football fans should be excited to see what to expect from these teams come the postseason.
Tennessee Titans Season Forecast
The Titans got off to a slow start this year but have found themselves with a 7-4 record and a comfortable lead in the AFC South.
Though the Tennessee Titans standings are secure, there are still plenty of things that they’d love to improve on, specifically on the offensive side of the ball.
Offensively the Titans have some of the worst NFL team stats ranking 26th in points per game at 19.0 and maintaining the 6th worst 3rd down conversion rate at a measly 36.69%.
Titans’ Defense
The defense, on the other hand, is playing incredibly, holding opponents to 18.6 points a contest which makes them the 8th best in the league in that category.
Opponents are only converting 30.67% of 3rd downs, making them the best in the league on 3rd down. If the offense can pull it together and not lose the games, the defense gives this team the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Moneyline
Opening Line
The Titans vs Eagles Moneyline opened with the Titans’ odds being +245
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The Titans’ moneyline has moved to +195 more due to the play the past two weeks of their opponents rather than anything special from Tennessee.
What Make Lose the Bet
The Eagles are still a good team and have only lost once this year. We know the Eagles will play competitive football. The question is will the Titans rise to the occasion?
Spread Line
Opening Line
The spread opened with Tennessee as +6.5 underdogs.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The spread has moved down a point now, making the Titans +5.5 point dogs. This is in line with the changes in the spread.
What Make Lose the Bet
Philadelphia can have a high-powered offense, and though their past two games have been relatively close.
Total
Opening Line
The total opened at 45.5 points.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The total has been a bit volatile as of late. However, it currently sits at 44.5 points.
What Make Lose the Bet
Bettors really don’t know how to take this game. It ultimately comes down to one question. Can Tennessee’s offense produce? Personally, I’m skeptical. But Derrick Henry could have a good day against a weak Eagles rushing defense.
Titans Betting Trend to Know
The Titans are 8-3 against the spread this season.
Philadelphia Eagles Season Forecast
The Eagles are having an incredible season. They’ve jumped out to a 10-1 record and are at the top of the NFL standings. When looking at the Philadelphia Eagles stats, it’s easy to see why.
They are dominant on both sides of the ball, putting up 27.5 points a game (3rd best in the league) while holding opponents to 19.6 (9th best in the league).
The high-flying offense has been in major part thanks to Jalen Hurts, who is putting up incredible NFL player stats this year.
With 17 TDs to only 3 INTs while maintaining the 4th-best QBR of 68.2, it’s fair to say Hurts to showing that he probably shouldn’t have slipped to the 2nd round of the draft.
The defense is playing together as a stellar unit, each player deserving of praise. Together they are holding opponents to 304.4 yards, a contest the 2nd best in the league. The only shortcoming could be their run defense, as they’re currently 18th in the league in rushing yards allowed.
Moneyline
Opening Line
The Titans vs Eagles moneyline opened with the Eagles’ odds being -295.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The Titans vs Eagles moneyline now sits with the Eagles’ odds priced at -225.
I think this is largely due to the Eagles playing in close games against the Colts and the Packers, both are significantly worse teams compared to Philadelphia, yet both managed to stay within possession.
What Makes Lose the Bet
If Philadelphia plays as they have recently, Tennessee has more than just a chance to make this a close game. Mind you, Tennessee only lost to Kansas City by three a few weeks ago.
Spread Line
Opening Line
The NFL odds opened with the Eagles as -6.5 favorites.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
There’s been a lot of movement in the line, but currently, Philly sits as -5.5 favorites.
I think the movement is just because people realize this has the potential to be a really close game, especially with the NFL injury report being somewhat kind to both teams for being this late in the season.
What Makes Lose the Bet
Tennessee’s defense can keep it close just as much as Philadelphia’s offense can blow teams away. After a couple of stumbles from the Eagles, the Titans definitely could keep the game close.
Total
Opening Line
The total opened at 45.5 points.
How the Line Has Moved and Why
The total sits at 44.5 points now after a couple of stumbles the past couple of weeks from the Eagles.
What Makes Lose the Bet
I like the under, but if the Tennessee offense gets rolling, the total is low enough that the over could easily hit.
Eagles Betting Trend to Know
The Eagles are 6-5 against the spread this year.
Most Profitable Players of this Matchup to Bet On
Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry has to have a big game for the Titans to have any chance this week.
The run is the only weak spot for this Eagles’ defense, and if he can manage to exploit that weakness, expect Philly to be in for a long day.
Jalen Hurts
What’s there to say? The guy is incredible. This is a great time for him to step up and show everyone he is Philly’s new franchise player.
Big players step up in big games, and this is one of the better NFL matchups this week. Many people will be watching. I expect Hurts to step up in this big game.
