Last Game Scores for Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers
The Vancouver Canucks are currently on a two-game winning streak after their recent win against the Arizona Coyotes 4-0 to end their preseason. The Oilers are currently on a one-game winning streak as they defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-0 at home in their last preseason contest.
While it doesn’t affect the Oilers team stats or this Canucks vs. Oilers prediction, Vancouver and Edmonton played twice in the 2022-23 NHL preseason, each winning one game. Those preseason lineups weren’t entirely representative of the teams who will be taking to the ice on Wednesday night in Edmonton.
Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers Analysis
The Vancouver Canucks are coming off a very poor preseason, but I have high hopes for them this season. The Canucks had a disappointing season last year as they failed to make the playoffs. The Canucks encountered a coaching change late in the season, which brought the team to life, but it was too late for them to catch up to the top wild-card contenders.
The Canucks will be a very skilled team this season, and they should be extremely exciting to watch. The Canucks are extremely talented up front, and they should have one of the best offenses in the league this season. The team is led up front by centers J.T. Miller, Bo Horvat, and Swedish superstar Elias Petterson. On the back end, the team is led by Quinn Hughes, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and solid goaltender Thatcher Demko.
The Canucks will be a very exciting team to watch this season, and I have high hopes for them.
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a successful run to the Western Conference Finals and a very good preseason. I have extremely high hopes for them this season. The Oilers had a very good season last year, eliminating Provincial rivals the Calgary Flames from the playoffs before ultimately losing in the Western Conference Finals to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche.
Is there any doubt that the Oilers will be amongst the most exciting teams to watch this upcoming NHL season? Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl alone make this statement true. The McDavid/Draisaitl duo is the best in the NHL and worth the price of admission every game.
I see the Edmonton Oilers as a lock to make the playoffs. The Oilers are another extremely highly skilled team, as they are led up front by the best player in hockey, superstar center Connor McDavid. McDavid scored 44 goals and 79 assists for 123 points last season.
If it wasn’t for NHL injuries, it’s likey McDavid cracks 100 points in every season of his career and will be atop the NHL player stats rankings all season long. As it stands, we expect McDavid to post over 100 points for the fifth time in seven seasons and expect him to lead the Oilers deep into the playoffs yet again. Even in his rookie season – the only season he did not get close to 100 points, primarily due to injury – the Edmonton Oilers were not the same team without McDavid.
While McDavid is the engine that drives the Oilers toward wins, Edmonton is led on the back end by defenseman Darnell Nurse and in the net by newly acquired Jack Campbell, who should be an upgrade in net for the Oilers.
If the Oilers can find a way to improve their team defense, they will be a true cup contender.

Vancouver Canucks at Edmonton Oilers Betting Picks
I have two picks for this exciting NHL matchup, and I will be doubling down on the Oilers. I will be taking the Oilers to cover the spread (-1.5) and to win on the moneyline for this matchup. The Connor McDavid show, also known as the Oilers’ offense, will be too much for the Canucks to slow down.
Another Canucks vs. Oilers prediction is that Edmonton will win this game by at least two goals. This makes the total goals a potential third wager from the Canucks betting odds on Wednesday night.
