France vs Spain Preview and Pick
France have an opportunity to win gold on home soil when they take on Spain on Friday in the men’s Olympic soccer tournament final. Both teams came back from losing positions to win in the Semifinals. And there are star players on each side, hence making the men’s Olympic soccer final: France vs Spain betting odds one to scrutinize.
Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta have been standouts for France, while Fermin Lopez picked up a goal and an assist on Monday. As both teams have scored in all five of their games, we expect that to happen here as well.
Our Olympic Soccer Pick is 1-1 at +500 odds and we’ll look at the rest of the betting odds.

France vs Spain Betting Preview
France Preview:
Former Crystal Palace teammates Jean-Philippe Mateta and Michael Olise have been key players for unbeaten France. Olise scored and assisted in Monday’s 3-1 extra-time victory over Egypt as Mateta scored twice. The pair also combined for the winning goal in the 1-0 Quarter-Final victory over Argentina.
Les Bleus are 5-0 heading into Friday’s gold medal game and have been a good pick for Olympic games betting. They went over seven hours without conceding a goal before Egypt scored the opener in the 62nd minute on Monday.
France managed to come back, even without suspended midfielders Manu Kone and Enzo Millot. The pair is in contention to start on Friday, though.
France last won an Olympic gold medal in men’s soccer 40 years ago but they’ve been the most dominant team at the tournament. They’ve outscored their opponents 11-1 heading into the final.
Spain Preview:
While Olise and Mateta have been key for France, Fermin Lopez has been Spain’s standout player. He scored and assisted in Spain’s 2-1 Semifinal comeback victory over Morocco on Monday. Plus, he scored two excellent goals in the 3-0 Quarter-Final victory over Japan last Friday.
Fermin is one of two holdovers from the Euro 2024 winning senior squad, along with Alex Baena. Spain have a winning pedigree and they were silver medalists at Tokyo 2020. This time around, they’re guaranteed another medal and are 4-1.
In the group stage, Spain defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 and Dominican Republic 3-1. Spain lost their group stage finale to Egypt, 2-1 after they had already clinched a spot in the Semifinals. Without extra time played, Spain could end up being the fresher of the two sides on Friday.
While Diego Lopez missed Monday’s match due to an injury, and alternate player Juanlu Sanchez scored the winning goal, he should recover in time for the gold medal game.
