Winter Olympics 2022: Women’s Skiing Betting Analysis
Women’s Downhill Betting Analysis
Corinne Suter of Switzerland is the favorite to win the gold in Women’s Downhill, but the field has gotten noticeably smaller as Sofia Goggia of Italy suffered a bad crash during a downhill in Cortina, Italy training two weeks ago but is questionable to race in this event.
She was expected to be Suter’s main source of competition for the gold as Goggia won the gold medal back in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Suter won the gold in the World Championship for alpine downhill and finished sixth in the 2018 Winter Olympics as a young 23-year-old.
Go with Suter to be able to win the gold for the Swiss in this event as the competition seems to be a little scarce for this event to challenge her as of this writing.
Women’s Combined Betting Analysis
Michelle Gisin of Switzerland is considered to be one of the favorites for the women’s combined event.
She was able to remain competitive in the World Championship in this event as she was second place in 2017 and third place in 2021. She is the reigning gold medalist in this event after winning it during the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Go with Gisin to win this event for a second consecutive Olympics, something that has happened to the previous two winners before her.
Women’s Giant Slalom Betting Analysis
Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States is neck-and-neck with Sara Hector of Sweden to be the favorite for this event.
Shiffrin won gold back in 2014 in Sochi in the Slalom event and is the most decorated American alpine skier of all time. She also won this event back in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and claimed the gold medal and looks to be the first person since Deborah Compagnoni of Italy to win gold in two consecutive Olympics for this event (1994-1998).
Shiffrin is on top of the overall World Cup rankings and looks set to go and defend her gold medal here and go with her to do just that and win another gold.
Women’s Slalom Betting Analysis
Petra Vlhova of Slovakia is currently the favorite in this event as she is -140 while Mikela Shiffrin of the United States is second at +140. This seems to be a two-person race for the gold as no one else is even close in terms of odds.
The 26-year-old Slovak skier has won all but two of the World Cup slalom races this season, and the other two were second-place finishes. Vlhova defeated Shiffrin in 2020 for the World Cup slalom title and has proven to be the most dominant force in the event.
Go with her to claim another victory in this event under her belt.
How to Bet on Women’s Skiing in the Winter Olympics 2022
Not as many people are going to be dialed into this on the American side as Breezy Johnson suffered an injury while training in January, and as a result, not many Americans expected to get a medal on the women’s side of things outside of Mikaela Shiffrin.
However, this is still an incredible few events that you do not want to miss, and the odds are great.
