Liga MX: Atlas vs. Queretaro Odds, Picks, and Predictions

  • Atlas has scored first in four of the last five matches.
  • Queretaro is without a win in the last six games.
  • Atlas and Queretaro have not kept a clean sheet in 5+ games.

As we enter the seventh week of the Liga MX Apertura season, the top teams are taking their spots while the others are still scrambling for scraps.

Two teams in this situation are Atlas and Queretaro. They’ve been poor since the start of the season, and the difference between their Liga MX stats is not enough.

Liga MX Stats

The teams haven’t been as convincing as they would want to be, and if they didn’t get their stuff together, it wouldn’t go for their season.

Both teams are not far apart, and the only thing separating them is that one has a win in their last six games while the other is yet to register a victory this season.

We believe it would be an epic matchup with two struggling teams going head-to-head. Both teams would have plenty to do in this tie, and the best team would take home the three points.

So, let’s check out this tie to see how both teams would set their team up and give our expert tips for the game.

Atlas vs. Queretaro Odds

The Atlas vs. Queretaro Odds favor Atlas. Both teams haven’t been convincing this season. They’ve both been terrible so far, but Queretaro has been worse, and that’s why they sit in the last spot on the Liga MX standings.

The team has been struggling to get any point; if they continue on this path, they might find themselves in the lower division.

Going by their current form and stats, Queretaro is the underdog in this game, and since they are the visiting team, it is not a surprise. The team would have to be better to get anything from this game.

Matchup Odds

Their odds are +360, indicating their expected chance of winning is about 22%, and they’ve only won 10% of all the games they’ve played with these odds.

On the other hand, Atlas came into this season with high hopes, following last season’s success. But so far, they’ve been performing below standard. However, they have the chance to make it in this game.

They have -143 odds, with an expected chance of losing about 59%. They’ve won 57% of matches whenever they are given these odds.

With these Liga MX odds, it is clear that Atlas is favored to win. But one can’t write off a draw, which has +300 odds.

Atlas Analysis

Atlas was one of the best teams in the league last season. They even went on to win the Liga MX Apertura cup.

However, they haven’t been very impressive since the start of the season. After losing the Supercopa tie against Cruz Azul, the team has been struggling for form.

Their first game was against Club America, which ended in a draw before they went on to play against Toluca; they lost before meeting Cruz Azul again.

But this time, they got a win, effectively getting their revenge. But that was it. Since that game against Cruz Azul, they haven’t gotten a single point and played three games.

Scored One Goal

They’ve only scored one goal in the last three, showing that their attack has been poor. The team struggles to stay in games, and the last match shows it.

After doing well in the first half, they had a moment of lapse when they lost concentration, and as a result, they ended up losing the match.

In their six games, the team has scored six and conceded 10. It is not looking good for them in the goals department.

Ball Possession

They’ve had about 51.3% in ball possession and 322 passes per game. Their problem is not in the midfield but the attack whenever it is time to get goals and also when it comes to defending.

Undoubtedly, Diego Martin Cocca needs to find a way to get his team to defend better and take their chances because a 7% conversion rate is way too low for any team that wants to compete with the best teams.

Queretaro Analysis

Queretaro has been worse than Atlas this season. They ended last season with an emphatic win against FC Juarez, and we had high hopes for the team coming into the new season. However, it has been disappointing so far.

Although the soccer odds are tempting. The team has had only two draws in the six games they’ve played. They lost their first two games before getting a 1-1 draw against Juarez

Then, they lost to Monterrey in a disappointing game where they were outclassed and outplayed from the start of the game until the final whistle. After that, they got a draw, and finally, they lost to Tigres UANL.

Score Goals

They’ve tried to score goals, but it hasn’t worked for the team. They’ve only got five in six games, which puts them at 0.8 goals per game, meaning that they don’t get up to one goal in each game.

And seeing how they are set up, it can get worse.  Also, from their five goals, they’ve scored two penalties.

One thing is obvious; their attacking prowess is below standard. And unfortunately, their defense is not helping either.

Ball Possession

The team has conceded 12 goals since the start of the season, meaning they concede two per game. They don’t even control games, as their ball possession is around 44.7%, and they’ve made 254 passes with 76.2% accuracy.

If the team wants to achieve anything this season, they must find a different approach. Mauro Gerk needs to improve his attack and defensive plan. But one thing we might have to realize is that they don’t have the personnel to take on elaborate plans.

Atlas vs. Queretaro Pick and Prediction

Atlas and Queretaro’s seasons are not going to plan. Both teams would have least wanted to seal a top 12 finish, but with their current performances and stats, it is hard to tell if they can make it.

However, a win for either team would change the course of their season.  So, both teams would want to win this game.

In that case, we’re looking forward to the game, and going by their head-to-head, stats, and recent performance, our pick for this tie is Atlas to win by 2-0. That’s one of our soccer picks today

Soccer Pick: Atlas (-143)
