Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. 1 and winner of the US Open, withdrew from the tournament due to injury, making space for American Taylor Fritz, who coincidentally won his first match on Sunday against Rafael Nadal.
Novak Djokovic at Nitto ATP Finals
Novak Djokovic is the tennis betting odds favorite to win the Nitto ATP Finals. He has won two of the last three tournaments in which he has played and has plenty to prove heading into the 2023 season.
He hasn’t won the Nitto ATP Finals betting since 2015. Alex Zverev is the defending champion but didn’t qualify for this year’s event.
The eight players are split into two groups (Green and Red), and the top two players in each group move on from the round-robin to the semifinals.

Rafael Nadal vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime
Nadal and Auger-Aliassime meet in a pivotal tennis betting matchup on Tuesday morning. The two players meet on Centre Court at Pala Alpitour at 8 a.m. EST.
Both players lost their first match on Sunday, meaning a loss here will likely eliminate either from contention.
Nadal’s Performance Recap
Nadal lost 6-7 (3), 1-6 to Fritz, while Auger-Aliassime lost 6-7 (4), 4-6 to Ruud. Nadal, who qualified as the No. 2 seed, hasn’t been himself since having to drop out of Wimbledon due to an injury.
He lost in the first round of the Paris Masters last week in his first ATP action since the US Open, where he lost to Frances Tiafoe in the Round of 16.
He faces a tough test in Auger-Aliassime, who was one of the hottest players on tour to end the season. Nitto ATP Finals betting predictions would tell you it’ll be tough to go against Auger-Aliassime.
“It’s a match like a normal tournament already because the loser will go out of the tournament normally,” said Nadal of Tuesday’s match against the young Canadian. “[I] just accept that I need to do better things.
I hope to be ready to make that happen. He finished the season playing unbelievable, winning [three] tournaments in a row, playing so well. [It is] another big challenge.”
Auger-Aliassime’s Performance Recap
Auger-Aliassime won his first career tournament early this season but struggled to find his form in Grand Slams and was outside of the top-10 ATP Finals betting rankings for much of the season.
He reached the semifinals at the Paris Masters, prior to which he won three consecutive tournaments: the Swiss Indoors, European Open, and Firenze Open.
Nadal is 2-0 against Auger-Aliassime in his career, but both of those victories have come on clay. Moreover, Auger-Aliassime took Nadal to five sets at this year’s French Open.
He was the third person to ever play the fifth set at Roland Garros against Nadal, who is 112-3 at the clay-court major.
Tennis Pick: Auger-Aliassime (-150)
Casper Ruud vs. Taylor Fritz
Both Ruud and Fritz can afford a loss here, considering they both won their first match, but a win would almost certainly earn either a spot in the semifinals.
Fritz won the Japan Open on October 9 but was just 2-2 in his last four matches before the ATP Finals betting. Ruud, meanwhile, was 1-2 in his last three matches.
One of the Biggest Servers on the ATP Tour
This is a match between two of the biggest servers on the ATP Tour, so don’t expect many long rallies. Fritz ranks eighth in aces this season, and Ruud is 20th. Surprisingly, they’ve yet to play against each other.
Fritz is the tennis betting favorite, but Ruud is the more accomplished player based on season and career performance. He’s 48-20 this season compared to Fritz, who is 43-19.
Ruud has nine titles, and Fritz has four. Expect the Norwegian to get the win and all but secure his spot in the semifinals.
Tennis Pick: Ruud (+120)
