Past Champions
The Infosys Hall of Fame Open has been held every year since 1976 and is currently an ATP World Tour 250 series event with a little more than $600,000 in prize money up for grabs.
It’s the last grass court tournament of the season, and the only one played outside of Europe. Because it’s the immediate week after Wimbledon, it usually doesn’t attract many top players and is often won by Americans.
Cressy, who has the seventh-shortest odds among tennis picks to win this year’s tournament, was the champion in 2022 after defeating Alexander Bublik in the finals. Kevin Anderson won in 2021.
Other past American champions include John Isner, who won four times from 2011 to 2019. Steve Johnson (2018), Mardy Fish (2010), and Robby Ginepri (2003).
Late Withdrawals and Changes
Six players withdrew from the Infosys Hall of Fame Open prediction for various reasons. Christopher Eubanks, who reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and took Daniil Medvedev to five sets, is the most notable withdrawal. He was replaced by Johnson, who won here in 2018. Other withdrawals include Radu Albot, Michael Mmoh, and Jason Kubler.
Anderson, who won in 2021, and Americans Ethan Quinn and Eliot Spizzirri are the three wild card entries into the tournament. There are still four other spots to be filled by qualifiers.
A Look at the Draw
The top four seeds – Paul, Mannarino, Humbert, and McDonald – receive automatic byes into the second round of the tournament. Paul, as the top seed, has the easiest path to winning his quarter-bracket.
He’ll face the winner of Quinn and a qualifier in the second round and would play either Isner, Spizzirri, Corentin Moutet or another qualifier in the quarter-finals. Mackenzie McDonald is the top seed in the other quarter in the top half of the draw.
Mannarino and Humbert are the top seeds in the bottom half of the draw. Which also includes Liam Broady, Gabriel Diallo, and Rinky Hijikata, all of whom have upset potential.
Round 1 matches on Monday include Broady (-225) vs. Shintaro Mochizuki (+175), Jordan Thompson (-334) vs. Aleksandar Kovacevic (+250), and Spizzirri (+500) vs. Moutet (-800). Paul and the other top seeds aren’t likely to play until Wednesday.
The Doubles Tournament
Some of the top singles players, including Paul and Cressy, are playing in the doubles tournament alongside some of the top pairs on the ATP Tour. Paul is playing with Spizzirri as a wild card team that begins the first round against JP Smith and Robert Galloway.
The winners play third-seed Indian duo Ykui Bhambri and Saketh Myneni in the quarter-finals. American duo Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow are the top seeds in the doubles tournament.
