Wimbledon Men’s Singles Semifinals: Novak Djokovic vs. Cam Norrie Betting Analysis and Predictions

After a week-and-a-half of exciting tennis betting odds on both the men’s and women’s side, we’re now into the semifinals at Wimbledon. There have been plenty of upsets, but some of the major stars in the game remain, including world No. 3 Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic, who survived a five-set scare in the quarterfinals by overcoming a 2-0 deficit, is up against Briton and home crowd favorite Cam Norrie in Friday’s first semifinal. Norrie is coming off of a five-set victory over David Goffin.

Last Game Records

Djokovic and Norrie have only played once before on the ATP Tour. The two players met at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin last November, with Djokovic cruising to an easy 6-2, 6-1 victory. That match, however, was on a hard court and without a raucous English crowd cheering on Norrie.

Matchup Information

  • Season Records: Djokovic (21-5) / Norrie (32-15)
  • Season Grass Records: Djokovic (5-0) / Norrie (6-2)
  • Best Grand Slam Finish: Djokovic (20-time Grand Slam winner) / Norrie (Third round at all four Grand Slams)
  • Current Ranking: Djokovic (3) / Norrie (12)

Djokovic vs. Norrie Betting Analysis

Djokovic is the overwhelming favorite in this match at -1400. He’s also the tournament betting favorite and has been since the start of Wimbledon last Monday. The 20-time Grand Slam winner is seeking his first of the season and would love to win the US Open to tie Nadal at 22 Grand Slams.

Norrie, meanwhile, is listed by most sportsbooks at +800. It’s not often there’s such a huge betting disparity this far into a Grand Slam, but Djokovic has won each of the last three Wimbledons and takes his game to another level at the All England Club, especially on Centre Court.

Djokovic Has Looked Beatable

Djokovic faced little pressure in each of his last three Wimbledon victories, especially in the early rounds. However, he lost a set in his opening match and did so again in his Round of 16 match. He needed five sets to defeat Jannik Sinner in the quarter-final.

Norrie Already Has His Best Grand Slam Result

Before this year’s Wimbledon, Norrie’s best Grand Slam result was a third round exit at the Australian Open, tennis French Open odds, and US Open. He has already achieved his best Grand Slam result and has done so in impressive fashion.

Norrie has only played 20 minutes more total than Djokovic through five matches and will have the entire crowd in his favor Friday.

Djokovic vs. Norrie Betting Preview

The four remaining players in the men’s draw will get a day off on Thursday as the women contest their semifinal matches. The men’s semifinal matches will take place Friday morning.

Djokovic and Norrie, both of whom played Tuesday, will play in the first semifinal. Both players are going into the match with two full rest days, which is integral at this point in the tournament.

Djokovic vs. Norrie Betting Prediction

The Big 3 (Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Djokovic) have been incredibly tough to beat at Grand Slams. It’s rare to see either player lose, despite being among the oldest players on tour these days. That said, momentum seems to be trending in Norrie’s direction.

All eyes were on Andy Murray potentially having a career resurgence at Wimbledon and becoming the first Briton to win the tournament since he did it himself in 2016. But perhaps this year is Norrie’s time to shine?

It’s certainly a greater risk going against Djokovic, but he hasn’t looked as dominant as we’re used to seeing him this season. Norrie, with the advantage of the home crowd, will be the one to end his remarkable run at Wimbledon.

How to Bet on Djokovic vs. Norrie

If you’re betting on tennis, especially if you go with Norrie, be sure to shop around for the most attractive lines. Different sportsbooks might have slightly different tennis betting odds, so make sure to get the most value.

Norrie, for instance, might pay out at +800 at one sportsbook and +850 at another. If you’re betting $100, that’s a difference in profit of $50.
