DWCS Season 8, Week 2 Betting Odds Preview
To start this Contender Series week 2 betting preview, we must understand the betting lines and the styles of each fighter. This can be difficult because all of these fighters are from small promotions from all over the world, so there isn’t much information on them that is easily accessible.
Billy Brand vs Cody Haddon
Brand is coming in with quite a lot of experience in amateur MMA and now 6 pro fights. He is a very skilled fighter with impressive Muay Thai skills and a ton of toughness. His only loss was to rising bantamweight contender, Payton Talbott.
Haddon is a regional champion in the UK and coming over to take his dynamic talents to the UFC. He is very fast, very explosive, with some impressive boxing skills. He might stay in the pocket a bit too long, but his hands are fast and sharp.
Torrez Finney vs Cam Rowston
Finney is an explosive athlete with legit one-punch KO power, along with aggressive wrestling skills. He is undersized, but makes up for it being the strongest and most athletic fighter in the cage in each of his bouts. He has a win on DWCS already, and this is his shot to prove himself again.
Rowston will have a length advantage that he will need to use well to stay away from the power of Finney. Rowston seems to be a more traditionally trained martial artist, showing off great technique in multiple areas of his fights.
Cortavious Romious vs Michael Imperato
Romious is one of the more impressive prospects on this card. He is a lightning-quick bantamweight who fights out of the southpaw stance and looks for his left hand to end people’s night, and he also has very good grappling skills. He got caught by Ramon Tavares last year on DWCS, but this is his redemption.
Imperato is an experienced fighter from Canada, looking for a massive chance in the UFC. He got this opportunity after wowing Dana White in Canada earlier this year. He is a strong wrestler with sneaky-good skills from his guard on the ground as well.
Rizvan Kuniev vs Hugo Cunha
Kuniev is the best prospect on this list, but he is coming off a suspension due to testing positive for PED’s. He has a win, later turned no contest, over Renan Ferreira–who is set to fight Francis Ngannou in a PFL super fight this fall.
Cunha is also an experienced heavyweight with all-around skills, just like his opponent this week. He is a big man, but his condition and speed are red flags going up against someone like Kuniev.
Pat Pytlik vs Andreas Gustafsson Berg
Pytlik is a very good martial artist who seems to have a boxing background. He shows off good combinations on the inside and honestly looks like a pure winner. He finds ways to win tough fights no matter where they go.
Gustafsson is an experienced professional from Sweden who has shown his toughness and grit in multiple fights overseas. He will be a fan favorite if he makes it to the UFC schedule. Comes forward, takes shots to give harder ones, and will find a way to win.

DWCS Season 8, Week 2 Betting Picks
UFC predictions are very difficult to make, especially when the fights are between top prospects in MMA from all over the world. There isn’t a lot of information out there on these guys, so studying as much film on these guys as possible is key.
Now, time for the official picks on this Contender Series week 2 betting preview:
Billy Brand (+140) vs Cody Haddon (-170)
We are taking Haddon to get his hand raised in this one. The explosive boxing and hand speed will be the difference.
- Pick: Haddon (-170).
Torrez Finney (-385) vs Cam Rowston (+310)
This is an easy pick to make. Take Finney to get his hand raised with a win inside the distance. He is too explosive and skilled to bet against.
- Pick: Finney By KO/TKO/DQ.
Cortavious Romious (-345) vs Michael Imperato (+270)
Much like Finney, Romious is way too skilled to bet against. He is a very good bantamweight with all-around skills–another example of the next era of MMA fighters we will be seeing make their way to the UFC.
- Pick: Romious (-345).
Rizvan Kuniev (-605) vs Hugo Cunha (+430)
Even though there are question marks around Kuniev and his steroid use and suspension, he is still very skilled. His condition might be worse in this one, but hopefully, he can perform without the enhancement. He is very dangerous and strong in both striking and wrestling.
- Pick: Kuniev By KO/TKO/DQ.
Pat Pytlik (+210) vs Andreas Gustafsson Berg (-270)
For this main event, we are taking Gustafsson to win this one. This is going to be Fight of the Night, potentially leading to both guys securing UFC contracts.
- Pick: Gustafsson Berg (-270)
