Vera vs Figueiredo Betting Preview
To make the most accurate Vera vs Figueiredo UFC Fight Night prediction, we need to go over the betting lines and the styles of each fighter. These two major factors can help us paint a picture of how this fight might go and what we should bet on.
According to the current UFC odds, Figueiredo is the one coming in as the betting favorite at -140, with Vera at +120. The fight to go the distance at -260 is the favorite line. There are plenty more prop bets to look at and we will discuss that in the prediction.
Stylistically, this is a tough fight for Vera. He is the taller man with a lot of experience now at this high level, but he isn’t built for three-round fights–more on that later. He is also coming off a brutal loss where he was on the wrong end of 50-44 scorecards and took a lot of damage–more than his entire career.
Figueiredo is pushing his late 30s in age, but he still looks strong and athletic, with some legit speed. He isn’t the most technical striker and will probably look to use his grappling in this one. He will try to pressure Vera against the fence and look for body lock takedowns and trips to get to work on the ground; where he is a high-level black belt.
Vera will need to stay off the cage and control the center of the octagon. He needs to let his hands go, his usual style of not throwing anything in the first round or two won’t do anything good for him in a 3-round fight against Figueiredo.
Vera vs Figueiredo Betting Prediction
After compiling this information and studying the tape, our UFC Fight Night pick is that Figueiredo will get his hand raised and win a decision, moving closer to a title shot.
Vera can either get better or get worse coming off that demoralizing loss to O’Malley. But he will need to be a different UFC fighter to get back into the title picture, especially to beat Figueiredo.
There isn’t enough confidence to bet on Vera because of his slow start and timidness to let his hands go. The prop bets aren’t valuable enough to get away from Figueiredo’s money line, though.
