UFC Vegas 60 will be added to the long list of UFC events in the APEX with limited crowds. As this style of event was beginning to become the new normal, now the world is opening back up.
It seems like a cool little treat for the fans to enjoy fights with minimal noise around the octagon. Two fights stick out as solid plays to make for UFC parlay picks this weekend.
The first is the fight surrounding this event and a pairing of sleepers that many fans might not know about but will be in contention for the night fight.
Cory Sandhagen vs. Song Yadong
Cory Sandhagen Analysis
Sandhagen (14-4) is looking to return to the winning column after dropping two straight fights to two of the best fighters in the division.
He will make sure people know that he belongs at the top of the division and that Yadong is not on his level yet.
It will be interesting to see how Sandhagen carries himself going into this main event bout. Would he feel disrespected by the UFC because of them giving him a guy lower than him in the rankings?
How Sandhagen Can Win this Fight?
Sandhagen will come out and pressure Yadong early while using his slick boxing combinations and changing angles all around the octagon. It will be another pretty performance by one of the slickest strikers in the UFC.
Song Yadong Analysis
Song Yadong is a young upcoming prospect that has quickly made his way into the top 10 of the UFC bantamweight division.
He seems to have been in the UFC for a while, but he is only in his mid-twenties with lots of room to grow.
Yadong’s Power
This is the biggest step up in competition for Yadong by a long shot. Sandhagen is a round away from either being the champion or already being challenged for the undisputed title this last year.
He dropped two close fights to two of the toughest competitors at 135 pounds. Yadong is a tough kid with a lot of power in his hands.
The 4-ounce gloves always are a cause for worry while trading blows in the pocket with someone, so look for that to the equalizer in the octagon on Saturday night when these two battle it out in the main event.
UFC Pick: Cory Sandhagen (-210)
Andre Fili vs. Bill Algeo
Andre Fili Analysis
Andre Fili is a 21-9 featherweight fighter out of Team Alpha Male in California. This gym has a long history of great fighters in the lighter divisions of the UFC. Fili has had the chance to train and spar with some of the best to ever do it in the UFC.
Fili is coming off a winless streak that has just not gone his way. He had a tough fight against Bryce Mitchell and then got caught early in his last time out against Joanderson Brito.
Fili will be prepared to get his career back on track and start working his way up in the featherweight rankings.
This fight has all the makings to be the fight of the night, with both men not shying away from a war on the feet. I believe this is going to be a fight that comes down to who has the most heart.
Bill Algeo
Bill Algeo is a tough 16-6 wrestler that loves fighting MMA. He is the classic wrestler in MMA with a ton of cardio, toughness, and heart when he is in the octagon. Algeo will look to keep the pressure high and outwork Fili there on Saturday.
Another reason this fight could be the fight of the night is Bill Algeo being a great dance partner for FIli. If both guys realize they are in for a war, they will throw everything away and try to prove who has the biggest heart and who can come out on top.
The limited crowd that will be in attendance might have a factor in the way this fight goes, but I still like this being a 3 round standup war between two absolute warriors in the octagon.
Algeo is going to be a half step quicker to the big shots and will outwork Fili over 15 minutes. UFC picks are very tough to make when there is such an even fight like this one, but you sometimes just get a hunch.
Pick: Bill Algeo +100
UFC Parlay Pick
I have a lot of confidence in UFC parlay picks with Cory Sandhagen in there and for him to put on a world-class performance and make a statement that he is still one of the best in the world.
This parlay is+195 in UFC odds and has some potential to be very valuable. The Bill Algeo-type UFC parlay picks are purely for enjoyment.
We have a feeling it is going to be an all-out war in the octagon, and there’s nothing like having a fighter to cheer for in those situations. He also has great odds to bet on for being someone that is hungry with a lot of momentum behind him.
UFC Parlay Pick: Two-Legged Parlay (+195)
