UFC Fight Night Main Card Betting Preview and Pick
Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov
Starting at the top of the card for Sandhagen vs Nurmagomedov betting preview, we have this bantamweight title eliminator bout. Sandhagen is on a three-fight winning streak and ranked as the #2 contender, as he takes on a dangerous undefeated UFC fighter who is only ranked #10. Will this massive risk be worth it for Sandhagen?
This is a very tough matchup for Sandhagen and the oddsmakers agree, having him as the +250 underdog against the -300 Nurmagomedov. Even though Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought anybody at the level of Sandhagen, his skills and physicality tell a lot about how this fight will likely play out.
The biggest factor will be the physicality of Nurmagomedov. Sandhagen is very, very crafty and will look to set traps and run Nurmagomedov into something big up the middle, but if he gets taken down, it’s going to be a long night for the 32-year-old top contender.
Sandhagen hasn’t looked very physically strong in grappling exchanges against anybody with a wrestling pedigree. He was able to hold down Font and Vera, but they looked like novices on the ground. This will be a huge test for Sandhagen as well, but those odds are tough to pass up on him.
- Nurmagomedov by decision +115
Shara Magomedov vs Michal Oleksiejczuk
Magomedov is one of the most interesting prospects in the UFC right now. He has that unique look with only one eye and red hair, calling himself The Pirate. He is a skilled striker who will have issues with anybody who is a high-level grappler, but Oleksiejcxuk isn’t that.
The UFC odds have Magomedov as the sizeable favorite at -235, but there’s plenty of value in a prop bet for him to win by decision at +325. Oleksiejczuk is a tank and won’t be easy to finish on the feet, and Magomedov hasn’t shown a ton of KO power.
Oleksiejczuk needs to make this fight ugly and get dirty up against the cage in the clinch, landing elbows and forcing Magomedov to stuff takedowns. This might be a battle of whoever is in better shape if Oleksiejczuk can take this into the third round.
- Magomedov by decision +325
Marlon Vera vs Deiveson Figueiredo
Coming off a brutal loss in his first world title fight, Vera looks to keep his spot at the top of the division with a big win over the two-time flyweight champion. Figueiredo is 2-0 since moving up to bantamweight, looking like his power and strength have translated well to the heavier weight class.
This is a close fight according to the betting lines, with Figueiredo edging as the -142 betting favorite. The prop bets available have a lot of value too, but the moneyline should suffice here.
Stylistically, Vera is going to have a hard time with the wrestling and ground game of Figueiredo. Three-round fights aren’t great for Vera with his style and how he starts slow, so he will need to wake up and let his hands go early. That first round will be important to have on a scorecard in this one.
- Figueiredo ML -142
Tony Ferguson vs Michael Chiesa
The last of the biggest fights on this main card is this welterweight bout between Ferguson and Chiesa. These two are hopefully nearing the end of their careers, possibly this being the retirement fight for both.
Ferguson hasn’t won a fight since 2019 and Chiesa hasn’t looked elite in years, with a lot of time away. The UFC odds for this matchup are very interesting, though. Chiesa hasn’t shown anything recently that would suggest he is a -650 betting favorite over Ferguson at +475.
Ferguson has lost a lot of people’s money on bets, but this is a tough one to turn against him. He has the heart and motivation to get a win here and has better hands than Chiesa on the feet.
- Ferguson ML +475
This UFC Fight Night card is full of action, and these Sandhagen vs Nurmagomedov betting previews are great for bettors. From the main event showdown between Sandhagen and Nurmagomedov to the intriguing matchups on the undercard, this event is sure to deliver excitement and potential profit.
