Numbered events are officially back in 2023, with the UFC making its return to Brazil to kick off the new year. UFC 283 will be jam-packed with great fights from start to finish, including two title fights to close out the main card.
Glover Teixeira (33-8) will be meeting Jamahal Hill (11-1) in the main event of the evening, fighting for the vacated UFC light heavyweight strap. This will also be the first Brazil event on the UFC schedule since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
Jiri Prochazka injured his shoulder and pulled out of his scheduled bout against Teixeira last month at UFC 282. He then vacated the belt so Teixeira can have his shot in a timely matter.

Glover Teixeira
Teixeira has over 40 professional MMA fights and 33 wins (28 finishes) under his belt. His experience is level upon level above the experience of Jamahal Hill. Teixeira will be giving up two inches in both height and reach to Hill on Saturday.
The 43-year-old Brazilian has averages 3.80 strikes landed per minute, as well as absorbed an average of 3.93 strikes in that minute. This says that Teixeira is going to be there to get hit by Hill, which is a scary thought for anybody that wants him to win.

This will be his biggest test in grappling, and grappling will surely have a massive impact on how this fight plays out.
