The UFC schedule brings back an APEX event this weekend in Las Vegas. With some exciting matchups to watch, this is a great UFC Fight Night Parlay for August 6 to bet on and win some easy money.
Bryan Battle vs. Takashi Sato
Bryan Battle Analysis
Bryan Battle, the season 29 TUF winner, will be looking to keep his winning streak alive with a great performance on the prelim card this weekend.
We saw him put on some great performances in the UFC APEX so far, including a dominating route to an Ultimate Fighter title.
Battle’s Background
In his last bout, he earned a decision victory over another talented TUF alum, Tresean Gore. Battle uses his length and distance control very well when he is on the feet striking.
That mixes with some very good takedown defense and even the ability to get a finish on the ground if the fight goes there. You can really see that this kid is an all-around MMA fighter that started training with that mindset.
Takashi Sato Analysis
Takashi Sato is coming off two straight losses in the UFC, including one from submission. Being in the UFC since 2019.
Sato has a little more experience in the octagon than Battle but will give up quite the size advantage in there on Saturday night.
Even though Sato is on a downslope in his UFC career, he is training at a great gym in Sanford MMA and packs a lot of power in his punch, and will be dangerous at all times on the feet this weekend.
Sato’s Background
His strength is his striking at boxing range, and he has shown a lot of downside on the ground in his career.
This is an interesting matchup to see how he handles someone that is quite larger and more athletic in Bryan Battle.
Bryan Battle to win at -230. He will be too much for Sato at his range. I can even see Battle hurting Sato and then chasing him to the ground to submit him.
UFC Pick: Bryan Battle (-230)
Terrance McKinney vs. Erick Gonzalez
Terrance McKinney Analysis
Terrance McKinney is one of the most exciting young prospects in the UFC right now. In his first big step up in competition, he received a disappointing loss to Drew Dober, where it really looked like he had Dober finished early.
Dober is a very durable guy and survived an early onslaught to come out victorious. That loss broke McKinney’s 5-fight streak of first-round finishes. This kid comes out hot and is very exciting.
How Can McKinney Success?
The question now is, can he still be successful if the opponent weathers the storm early? If Erick Gonzalez can survive the first round, it will be very interesting to see McKinney come out to start round 2 for the first time in the UFC.
Erick Gonzalez Analysis
This will be Gonzalez’s second bout in the UFC. In his debut, he got knocked out by UFC legend Jim Miller in the second round last year.
The UFC is doing him no favors in this matchup against a very dangerous man in the lightweight division. Gonzalez is a durable guy, with punching power and the heart to finish his opponents.
He will be coming into this one with the mindset that he can shock the MMA community and give McKinney his second straight loss. According to MMA odds, he is a massive underdog at +600.
Who to Bet On?
Terrance McKinney to win at -850. This is as much of a ‘lock’ as you can get for UFC picks. This will be a great leg of a parlay to make it a bit of a bigger play for you. It is one of the easiest UFC picks you can make with these odds.
UFC Pick: Terrance McKinney to win (-850)
Thiago Santos vs. Jamahal Hill
Thiago Santos Analysis
Thiago Santos is a UFC legend at this point and is headlining yet another UFC event. Coming off three lackluster performances in a row, including two decision losses to top light heavyweight opponents, this is a big chance for Santos to show everyone that he still belongs at the top of the division.
Fight fans might think that Santos has been a boring fighter to watch as of late, but he will have his hands full, and the fight will be brought to him this weekend.
It will be interesting to see how he handles a great athlete in Hill and if he can prove the oddsmakers wrong in this one. UFC odds have Santos as a sizable +220 underdog for this bout.
Jamahal Hill Analysis
Jamahal Hill is coming off two straight first-round finishes in the UFC. He is a great, athletic fighter with an even better personality outside of the octagon.
A stellar performance this weekend could lead to him being a big star in the UFC and fighting a top contender fight very soon after.
Hill has the size advantage, along with being the younger fighter starting his prime. He is a pretty big favorite at -260 in this one, and I think that is a big chance for him to prove that he belongs in the top 5 of this exciting light heavyweight division.
UFC Pick
When making your UFC Fight Night Parlay for August, take Jamahal Hill to win at -260. I believe his slick boxing and punching power will be too much for the declining Santos.
Santos will be a tough puzzle for Hill early, but once he finds his timing and range, I think he will start touching Santos’ chin at will and hurt him.
UFC Pick: Jamahal Hill (-260)
UFC Pick Parlay
- Bryan Battle (-230)
- Terrance McKinney to win (-850)
- Jamahal Hill (-260)
UFC Pick: Three-Legged Parlay (+122)
