There is another event at the APEX in Las Vegas on the UFC schedule on October 15. UFC Vegas 62 kicks off at 7 PM ET, with the main event fight to end the night being Alexa Grasso vs. Vivian Araujo.
But if you’re going to bet on UFC Vegas 62, you need to check these top 3 fighters to bet on to win big on Saturday night.
Top Three Fighters
1. Brandon Royval
Brandon Royval (14-6) is set to take on Askar Askarov (14-1-1) in a flyweight top contender fight on October 15. Royval is the most talented and dangerous underdog to make a play on at +160, if you’re going to bet on UFC Vegas 62.
He is coming off an awesome performance against Matt Schnell, where he sunk in a nasty guillotine choke to finish the fight a little over 2 minutes into round 1.
Royval keeps showing how dangerous and explosive of an athlete he is, as well as becoming a better all-around mixed martial artist.
The highly touted Dagestani contender, Askarov, is going to be a very tough test for Royval. He is coming off a loss to Kai Kara France, where he really went into that fight thinking he couldn’t be beat. It will be interesting to see how Askarov bounces back from that humbling experience.
2. Neil Magny
According to UFC odds, Neil Magny is the slight betting favorite over Daniel Rodriguez, with odds at -120. This is a very close fight with two very good martial artists. Magny is just the slightly better all-around fighter right now in their careers.
Magny also has the experience advantage in this one, with over 15 more fights than Rodriguez. Magny has been looking very good into his mid-thirties, but he slipped up in his last bout against a very dominant Shavkat Rahkmonov.
Neil Is Here to Prove Doubters
Rodriguez is coming off a debatable win over Li Jingliang in September, and is looking to prove his doubters wrong with a good performance over Magny while bouncing back and into the octagon right away after his last fight.
Magny is going to be able to find more ways to win on the scorecards than Rodriguez can. Don’t expect either man to knock the other out, and take the good odds for the betting favorite, Neil Magny.
3. Jonathan Martinez
It will always be tough to bet against a legend like Cub Swanson. But at age 38, this is just going to be a tough fight to win for Swanson. UFC odds have Martinez as the betting favorite at -175.
After going back and forth, I saw an interview from earlier this year where Swanson talks about how he has put fighting on the back burner in life at this point of his career.
Martinez Three-Fight Win Streak
This is awesome to hear, but the 27-year-old Jonathan Martinez, on a 3-fight win streak, is making this a priority in his life.
All UFC stats aside, Martinez is going to be the hungrier, more aggressive fighter in the octagon on that night.
Swanson has a lot more experience and has looked pretty good in his last few fights. But this is his first fight since December, and Martinez just has a better chance to show up ready to go.
An Underrated Striker
Martinez is a very underrated striker and has a lot of impressive weapons in his arsenal. His front kick and round kicks to the body are very fast and with zero telegraphing involved.
He uses his kicks and his front hand to set up for a quick, sweeping left hook coming across to catch his opponents out of his southpaw stance.
Interesting UFC Vegas 62 Bet
With another solid night of fights to watch from the APEX in Las Vegas, you can make things interesting if you bet on UFC Vegas 62.
These three fighters all have very good chances to cash in. On top of that, they will be involved in three of the most exciting fights of the event.
A Perfect Mix
It is the perfect mix of UFC veterans and upcoming studs; betting on these with the great odds that we have will be perfect.
Royval has tons of momentum, and beating Askarov will put him into title contention. Neil Magny is a veteran that you should never bet against and has great odds against a tough opponent.
Finally, Martinez is a young prospect with some sick, striking skills that will get his chance to face a hall of fame fighter and show off his skills to the UFC fans.
