Arman Tsarukyan
Arman Tsarukyan is the No. 11 ranked lightweight contender and has won his last five matches. Tsarukyan comes into this fight at 25 years old, 5’7”, 155 lbs, and has a 72” reach. Arman is a freakish athlete with intense striking power and tremendous wrestling ability.
Throughout his past fights, Tsarukyan has displayed perfection and dominance. The one exception was during his promotional debut versus Islam Makhachev in Saint Petersburg, Russia three years ago. Throughout that fight, Arman showed the ability to wrestle and strike with Islam which speaks volumes about Arman’s abilities.
Considering the fact that Islam is now poised for a title shot, Arman being able to go the distance with him brought a great impression upon him. Although he did lose the match by decision, their fight won Fight of the Night.
Ever since that loss, Tsarukyan has displayed growth and has not lost a single fight. His impressive wrestling in addition to an improved Muay Thai ability will be a lot for Gamrot to handle.
Mateusz Gamrot
Right behind Tsarukyan, Gamrot comes in as the No. 12 ranked lightweight contender and he has won his last three fights. Gamrot enters this fight at age 31, 5’10”, 155 lbs, and has a 71” reach. His measurables come in very similar to Tsarukyan, except for his age and experience.
Gamrot is a two-time ADCC European Champion in submission wrestling which makes him an immediate submission threat for Tsarukyan. Furthermore, Gamrot holds a southpaw stance which may be new to the orthodox fighter Tsarukyan. His elite grappling and strong technical boxing skills make him a formidable foe for Arman.

Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot Betting Preview
According to MMA odds, Arman Tsarukyan is a heavy favorite leading into this match at around -250. Those looking at UFC odds to find Mateusz Gamrot lines will find him at around +190.
Just at first glance, the line movement is something that is very prevalent in this matchup. Tsarukyan opened up near -275 while Gamrot opened up near +225. Gamrot’s opening line was a tad bit disrespectful considering his dominance in the submission game. Gamrot is the stronger grappler of the two. Furthermore, Gamrot has more experience than Tsarukyan in 5 round fights.
Many would believe that Gamrot is more suited for this fight considering it goes the distance. His experience would help him take care of Tsarukyan in the later rounds as his inexperience may cause him to lose focus. Fighting against a master grappler and submission artist requires constant focus and remaining focused consistently for 25 minutes could be a struggle.
However, there are no signs that point to Tsarukyan’s cardiovascular endurance being weak. Throughout his fights, he has shown great endurance throughout every round.

Despite the MMA betting trends with the reverse line movement for Tsarukyan, I believe those taking part in MMA betting are just getting less juiced lines. Arman is the stronger striker. Arman is the better wrestler. His only shortcoming to Gamrot would be in the grappling area, however, due to his strong athleticism and strength, Arman should be able to withstand any takedown attempts from Gamrot.
Gamrot will look to work in level changes but as long as Arman can stay on top of Gamrot and not give up his backside, he should be favored to win.
