A’ja Wilson Dominates Early MVP Race as Favorites Emerge
A’ja Wilson -3000
Wilson is running away with the odds right now. She is scoring more than 27 points per game, ripping down nearly 12 rebounds pre game, and dishing out 2.5 assists per game. Vegas has not been red hot to start the season, but some pacing for the defending champions is not a bad thing. Wilson is the only player in the league making 10+ shots per game. She is the massive favorite at -3000.
Sabrina Ionescu +6500
The best player on the best team in the league? Sure, that’s what the fans of this Liberty guard are saying. She is scoring 19.4 points per game, and making nearly three shots per game from downtown. Ionescu is playing nearly 34 minutes per game, and a great floor leader in New York. She is one of the top free throw shooters in the league as well, making just shy of 90%. She is the next up at 65/1 odds.
Caitlin Clark +8500
The rookie out of Iowa has been sensational in her first 26 games. She is playing more than 35 minutes per game, and scoring 17.1 points per game. Clark is the best passer in the league, as she is dishing out 8.2 assists per game. For good measure, she also averages 5.6 assists per game. Oh yeah, her Indiana Fever – third place in the East at the break. Clark is listed at 85/1 odds to win the award.
Alyssa Thomas +8500
Her numbers do not jump out at you. In fact, she is 34th in all of the league in scoring. She is at just 11.2 points per game. But, playing for Connecticut, there is no doubt she is the leader of the team. She is ripping down 9.2 rebounds per game, and dishing 7.7 assists per game. She is a true talent, and going to be tough to defend when the Sun find themselves in a playoff series.
Breanna Stewart +15000
Another member of the New York Liberty. The forward has played in 23 games, and is scoring 19.3 points per game. Stewart has struggled from the three point line, making just 23%, but everything else about her game has been solid. New York is going to be a tough team to eliminate in the postseason due in large part to her game.
Jonquel Jones +15000
A third member of the New York Liberty. Playing 31.3 minutes per game, Jones is scoring 15.6 points per game. She is also adding nearly 10 rebounds per game. Her presence in the paint is tough for opponents to plan for.
Kelsey Plum +25000
Another member of the Las Vegas Aces. Plum is the three point threat for the Aces. When teams pack it in on Wilson, Plum can knock shots down from deep. She is scoring 18.8 points per game, and making nearly 38% from three. Plum is also a great free throw shooter, making just shy of 86%.
Jewell Loyd +25000
Seattle has made a big jump in the WNBA standings from a season ago. Much of that has to do with the nearly 20 points per game from Loyd. The Storm are right in the mix with Minnesota at the top of the WNBA West standings. It will be a great three-team race with those two and Vegas for the top spot. Loyd is also dishing out 4 assists per game for the Storm.
Jackie Young +25000
A third member of the Las Vegas Aces. Young is shooting 44.6% from the field, and scoring 18.5 points per game. This is a team with elite scoring options, and Young loves to be the third option.
Those are some of the top favorites for the WNBA MVP betting odds. Enjoy the rest of the season and best of luck with all your WNBA Betting!
