Good luck slowing down the New York Liberty or Las Vegas Aces this season. The Aces, the defending WNBA champions, have another strong team, while the Liberty have put together a super team that is likely to garner a lot of the postseason awards.
It should come as no surprise that the top two players in the WNBA MVP odds early in the season come from those two franchises.
As the season goes on, it is likely that anyone betting on WNBA odds will see the odds swing as things change in the standings.

WNBA Regular Season 2023-2024 MVP Candidates
Breanna Stewart, Forward, New York Liberty -110
Stewart, after six years in Seattle, decided to leave the Great Northwest to go to the Big Apple. What has happened since Stewart arrived is a significant shakeup in the WNBA standings. Stewart has become the favorite in the WNBA MVP odds thanks to New York shooting near first place in the Eastern Conference, largely due to her brilliance.
Stewart is averaging 23.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. In addition, Stewart handed out 4.0 assists per game and collected 1.7 steals per game. Another nice thing for Stewart is that she has a strong supporting cast around her, including Jonquel Jones, Sabrina Ionescu, and Courtney Vandersloot. Stewart won the MVP award twice before when she was playing with the Seattle Storm.
A’Ja Wilson, Forward, Las Vegas Aces, +340
Wilson, a two-time MVP, can’t be forgotten about. The Aces are likely to once again be the favorite to win the Western Conference. Wilson averages 18.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Wilson also hands out 2.2 assists per game.
Las Vegas has shot out of the gate, winning 11 of its first 12 games against other WNBA teams. The Aces should keep Wilson in the discussion if they keep up their strong start. When it comes to WNBA MVP odds, Wilson has the stats to challenge Stewart for the award.
Alyssa Thomas, Forward, Connecticut Sun, +550
Thomas is one of the more intense players playing WNBA games today. She is also one of the more versatile players. When looking at the box scores for WNBA scores, Thomas averages 14.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game. Connecticut is a team that has shown New York that winning the Eastern Conference may not be so easy.
Connecticut has a narrow lead over the Liberty in the standings. Thomas has been a key cog for a team that relies heavily on toughness, and Thomas personifies that.
Elena Delle Donne, Forward, Washington Mystics, +1600
Dellen Donne is a two-time MVP. She is again putting up solid numbers for the Mystics this season. Delle Donne averages 18.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The Mystics this season, however, are likely to finish third in the Eastern Conference.
Dellen Donne and her teammates will face stiff competition from the Liberty and Sun, which will likely prevent Delle Donne from earning MVP for the third time.
WNBA Regular Season 2023-2024 MVP Prediction
Anyone making WNBA picks will see the debate between Wilson and Stewart should rage all season. However, there is a real chance that Liberty will be winning a majority of the awards by the time everything is said and done. The Liberty has had some early issues because of bringing in so many new faces.
Once this New York team starts to play together and hit its stride, there will be little to slow down the Liberty. Stewart will win this award by running away to collect the trophy for the third time.
