After Week 1 losses, both Washington and Buffalo bounced back with wins last week. The wins came in different fashions. Let’s take a closer lookt to this Washington at Bills betting analysis.
Washington needed an extra try for a game-winning field goal attempt with no time on the clock to slip by NFC East rival New York (N), 30-29.
Buffalo used its stout defense and an efficient offense to cruise past its division rival, Miami, 35-0.
Game Odds
BetUS has the host Bills as the heavy favorite in this one at -7.5 (EV). Bettors taking Washington to cover the spread will have -120 odds. Sportsbooks have the Over/Under set at 45.5 points with -110 odds on either side of the number.
Slow Start
Buffalo starting quarterback Josh Allen was one of the preseason favorites for MVP this season. Through two games, that’s not the case. After completing 17 of 33 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns against the Dolphins, Allen has 449 yards for the season on 47 of 84 passing with three touchdowns and one interception.
Look for Allen to open things up a bit this week against a Washington defense that has not lived up to its hype either as it enters this week ranked 24th in total defense. Washington allowed Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to hurt the defense in the RPO to the tune of 95 yards. If Washington does not make adjustments, this could mean a huge day for Allen.
Star in the Making?
Taylor Heinicke proved last year’s performance in the playoffs against Tampa Bay was no fluke. Heinicke, who replaced the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick midway through Week 1, threw for 336 yards on 34 of 46 passing in last week’s win.
On the season, Heinicke has completed 45 of 61 passes for 458 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Those numbers are slightly better than his Sunday counterpart.
Defense Leading the Way
Buffalo ranks second in the league in overall defense through the first two games. The Bills are second to Carolina in passing yards allowed (161), rushing yards (73), and points per game (11.5). The Bills have also registered eight sacks on the season, including six in last week’s shutout at Miami.
Favorite Target(s)
One of the reasons for Heinicke’s success has been the chemistry created with No. 1 WR Terry McLaurin. The duo hooked up 11 times last week, resulting in 107 yards and a touchdown. For the season, McLaurin leads the team with 15 receptions and 169 yards.
Heinicke also utilized versatile running back J.D. McKissic for five receptions and 83 yards.
Other Leaders for WTF and Buffalo
Antonio Gibson leads the Football Team’s ground game with 159 yards on 33 carries, while Logan Thomas is third on the team in receiving with 75 yards on eight receptions. Devin Singletary leads the Bills’ rushing attack with 154 yards on 24 totes, while Stefon Diggs (13-129), Emmanuel Sanders (6-100), and Cole Beasley (12-96) are Allen’s top targets in the passing game.

Buffalo has dominated the series by winning seven of the last eight matchups. Washington is also 1-7 against the spread in those games and carries the same mark ATS in its last eight overall games played in September.
Buffalo is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 games and is 6-0 ATS in its last six games against teams from the NFC East.
