NFL Week 8
Football rivalries between teams located within the Keystone State are fleeting at best. Pitt and Penn State don’t meet every year in college, nor do the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles, due to the fact they are in different conferences. Regarding NFL matchups, the Steelers traveling to play the Eagles have been ugly for the team from the Steel City.
Pittsburgh hasn’t won in Philadelphia since 1965, a streak of nine games. The Steelers haven’t scored a touchdown in the City of Brotherly Love since 1997. In Pittsburgh’s last two games in Philadelphia, the Steelers have scored a combined nine points.

Here’s a look at some interesting facts about NFL Week 8 matchups.
Possible Super Bowl Preview
Two franchises that have fallen short of reaching their potential in recent years have been the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers. Both teams have star quarterbacks with Buffalo’s Josh Allen and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers. The Bills grabbing a win at Lambeau Field would be a nice resume builder for Buffalo.
Likewise, Rodgers will need to show he can win a Super Bowl this year. Green Bay gave him a large contract extension following a tumultuous offseason.
Other Important Matchups
- Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals will be looking for a big win on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns swept the Bengals last season, despite Cincinnati reaching the Super Bowl and winning the division. Cleveland still has major questions at quarterback due to the Deshaun Watson situation.
- Washington quarterback Carson Wentz will have an opportunity to get revenge on the Indianapolis Colts on the road. Wentz will head back to play for a team that gave up on him after only one season. The Commanders will have to try and stop Matt Ryan, who came over as a free agent from the Falcons.
- The Rams will have an opportunity to score a big win over San Francisco. Los Angeles will be energized by a defensive line led by Aaron Donald, who put the retirement talk to rest once he signed a large contract extension.
