The NHL season is in full swing and with the playoffs currently beginning to ramp up there are several NHL games to bet on. The Standings for the NHL are huge as only 16 teams make the playoffs from the regular season. Eight teams from the Western Conference make the playoffs and eight teams from the Eastern Conference also make the playoffs. Each conference is then broken into two separate divisions. In the Western Conference, there is the Pacific Division and the Central Division. The Eastern Conference is then split up into the Pacific Division and the Metropolitan Division. The top three teams from each division will make the playoffs, the two wild card spots for each conference are then decided by the best overall record for the teams that did not finish top three in their division for the whole conference.
Every point in the NHL season matters and here is how the point system in the NHL works. 2 points for a regulation or overtime win, 1 point for a shootout or overtime loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss. The team with the most points in their division at the end of the season is the winner of their division.

The regular season in the NHL ranges from late October to the end of April. Then the playoffs begin. The Playoffs begin in early May and last all the way to the end of June. The Winner of the Stanley Cup must win 16 games in total in order to win the cup. The Stanley Cup is one of the hardest trophies to win in sports.
