Monaco is a football club based in Monaco, but they compete in the French Ligue 1. The team plays football at the Stade Louis II, a stadium with about 16,500 seating capacity. Monaco Sports Investment Limited and the House of Grimaldi share the club’s ownership. Dmitry Rybolovlev is the president of the club. 

In addition, Phillippe Clement is the head coach. Monaco has been around for many years, and its official name is Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club SA. Their nickname is The Monegasques. The team’s colors are white and red, their home jersey colors. 

Monaco History

AS Monaco FC was created in 1919 as the unification of different local clubs based in the principality and France. However, the Association Sportive de Monaco was created in 1924 eventually, AS Monaco FC was merged with ASM, making it the football section of the Monegasque sporting club. 

The team continued upward and eventually made it into the French first division in 1953. By 1960, the team won their first professional trophy after beating Coupe de France, beginning the club’s journey to multiple championships as they won the French championship the following year. 

In their history, Monaco has won most of the domestic trophies, including the Ligue 2 championship. Monaco stats show they had some great eras that saw them become champions on many occasions. Undoubtedly, they are a team with excellent history and would continue to push for more titles.
