Celtic General Info

Celtic has been one of the best teams in European football history. The team has been winning trophies for years since they started playing competitive games. Undoubtedly, Celtic is an impressive team with lots of exciting records. However, like many teams, they’ve not translated these victories into their European endeavors.

The team has struggled to maintain a stronghold in Europe and has continued to push for better champions league standings. Only once in their history have they been able to finish in the competition as champions. They play at the Celtic Park, which has a capacity of 60,411, making it the largest in Scotland.

Celtic History

The Celtic story started in 1887 on the 6th of November by Brother Walfrid. The objective of creating the team was to alleviate poverty in the East End of Glasglow. The club was a means for fundraising and inspiration from Hibernian, a club created by Irish immigrants a few years prior in Edinburgh.

However, it wasn’t until 1888 before the team played their first official match. The game was Rangers, and they won 5-2. Neil McCallum scored the team’s first goal. From there, the team continued to compete for different titles and made many exciting memories throughout their history in the Scottish league and playing in Europe.
