Team History
Founded in 1910, Cadiz CF played its first-ever match against cross-town rival Cadiz Sporting Club on September 8 of that year and won 1-0. It didn’t play an official season until 1939-40 when it joined the Segunda División following the Spanish Civil War. The club finished first that season but struggled over the next few seasons and was ultimately relegated to Tercera División.
Since then, Cadiz has bounced back and forth between divisions with periods of success and relatively dark periods in which it consistently sat outside the top 10 in the Segunda División. Cadiz didn’t reach La Liga until the 1977-78 season but was relegated after only one season. It did not complete back-to-back seasons in La Liga until 1985-86 and 1986-87. That marked the start of eight consecutive seasons in La Liga, although the team didn’t finish better than 12th in any of those seasons.
Following that stretch, Cadiz only played once in La Liga from 1993-94 to 2020-21. The club finished 17th in last season.
Cadíz CF – Historical Events
Other than its founding and first year in La Liga, Cadiz betting hasn’t really had many monumental moments throughout its history. Its best-ever finish in the La Liga table was 12th in the 1987-88 season. Cadiz replicated that in 2020-21.
