UFC 281: Adesanya vs. Pereira

A monster event at Madison Square Garden is back on the UFC schedule and is set for November 12. UFC 281 will be quite the spectacle with two title fights and a massive lightweight title eliminator fight.

The big fights leading up to the main event include Dustin Poirier (28-7) against Michael Chandler (23-7) in an absolute banger and fan favorite fight. And in the co-main event slot, the women’s strawweight title will be put on the line with Carla Esparza (20-6) defending her belt against former champion Weili Zhang (22-3).

The main event is a middleweight title fight between the reigning champion Israel Adesanya (23-1) and his former kickboxing foe, Alex Pereira (6-1). Pereira was fast-tracked to a title shot not only for his KO power, but he is also the only person ever to beat Adesanya twice. One of those kickboxing victories over the middleweight champion was a vicious KO with Pereira’s patented left hook.

UFC 281 will take place at MSG, the Mecca of combat sports, where many past UFC events have had historic gates and even more incredible performances. MSG will be full of a special kind of energy with the chance to witness an epic finish from either man.

How to bet on this card?

This main event bout has very close opening odds. Adesanya is the slight betting favorite at -160, which are UFC odds we aren’t used to seeing by his name. Pereira is a terrifying individual who can put Adesanya’s lights out with any clean strike within 25 minutes of a title fight.

Prop bets to look at are both fighters winning inside the distance. This fight seems like it won’t go the full 25 minutes. Adesanya is +410 to win inside the distance, along with Pereira being +275 for the same method of victory.
