UFC FIGHT NIGHT SANDHAGEN VS. SONG PREVIEW

UFC is back in Las Vegas at the APEX with the UFC Vegas 60 event. Cory Sandhagen (14-4) will be taking on Song Yadong (19-6-1) in the main event bout. Sandhagen is the #4 ranked bantamweight, coming off of two losses against the #1 and #2 fighters in the division. Yadong is the #10 ranked bantamweight and will be making a massive leap in competition while going up against Sandhagen in a 5-round fight.

This main event will be Sandhagen’s 4th headlining fight in his last 5 fights. Even after losing two in a row, the UFC holds him in high regard, and he is still the main event-worthy.

Song Yadong is only 24 years old and is already going to make his 11th walk to the octagon on September 17. The Chinese martial artist trains out of Team Alpha Male, one of MMA’s most historic gyms.

Sandhagen is now entering “phase 2” of his MMA career, he said in the media scrum during fight week. He is training in Colorado at Elevation Fight Team, which is one of the best camps in the states as of late, with multiple champions spending a lot of time there.

This fight will be a very high-level display of mixed martial arts between two young men with a lot of respect for the game and each other. It’s a treat for all fight fans to be able to watch two skilled athletes like Sandhagen and Yadong go at it in the cage.

How to bet:

Cory Sandhagen is the betting favorite, with odds at -190. This is some pretty good value for a fighter of his caliber going up against someone with not nearly enough experience to beat him easily in the octagon.

The under 4.5 rounds at +140 is a very highly valued bet to keep your eyes on. Sandhagen is one of the slickest strikers in the UFC, and he is coming off two decision losses with clear regret in letting fights go to the judges. Look for Sandhagen to push the pace and to try to put Yadong away before the scorecards can get involved.
