New York last played on Tuesday where they not only were defeated by the Golden State Warriors at home but also watched Stephen Curry break the all-time three-point record. The Knicks have been dreadful over the past two weeks as evidenced by their 2-8 record in their past 10 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston will quickly travel from Cleveland back home following a 124-89 loss on Wednesday against the Cavaliers. However, the Rockets have played quality basketball as of late by winning 7 of their past 10 contests.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston was rolled over by the Cavs on Wednesday evening. Oddly enough, the bench had four players with 11 or more points while the starting lineup only saw one player reach double-digits in the loss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rockets were without the following players due to injury; Christian Wood, Eric Gordon, Jalen Green, and Kevin Porter Jr. This game could have seen a very different outcome had these players been active. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nonetheless, the makeshift Rocket\u2019s lineup did everything they could on Wednesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jae\u2019Sean Tate was the lone starter to score double-digit points with his mark of 12. He also added 6 rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alperen Sengun was the Rocket\u2019s leading scorer with his 19 off the bench. Josh Christopher added 17, KJ Martin had 14, and David Nwaba scored 11. Despite the strong play of Houston\u2019s role players, they were unable to overcome the various injuries they faced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rockets are hopeful that some of the usual starters can return for Thursday\u2019s game. Eric Gordon is likely to play, while Christian Wood is questionable. Porter Jr. and Jalen Green are both doubtful to suit up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Houston is surely hopeful that they can receive similar output from their bench in this game against the Knicks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Knicks hung around with Golden State<\/a> on Tuesday until the Warriors pulled away in the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Julius Randle has dealt with his share of struggles in 2021, but he did all he could to give New York a chance in the game. Randle scored 31 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 2 steals in the loss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Derrick Rose has looked solid since being placed in the starting lineup. He dropped 15 points and 6 assists in Tuesday\u2019s game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the efforts of Randle and Rose, the Knicks have been one of the worst teams in the NBA in December. It has become clear that they need to add another true star to compliment Julius Randle. Prior to the season beginning, they thought Kemba Walker would be the answer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Instead, Walker is not even receiving playing time and the Knicks are rumored to try and trade the former superstar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The team ranks just 25th in points per game and 27th in team assists. Their inability to consistently share the ball tends to lead to a stagnant offense that is forced to take undesirable shots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n With all of that said, they are facing a short-handed Houston Rockets team on Thursday. They should be in line for a rebound effort on the road in Houston. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This game would have a completely different prediction if the Rockets were healthy. They truly have looked better over the past couple of weeks than New York.
