Colombia faces a road match on Tuesday in a state of desperation. Meanwhile, Argentina can rest easy after already booking its spot at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Colombians are within striking range of both fourth and fifth place but need to rebound quickly after losing to Peru to open the current international window.
Colombia at Argentina Stats
Looking at the Columbia Stats
Things had been going relatively well for Colombia until the November window. The Coffee Growers lost to Brazil and then tied Paraguay in that window and lost to Peru last week to open the current window. That has put Colombia three points behind Peru for fourth place and one point behind Uruguay for fifth place.
Granted, that has the Coffee Growers within striking distance with three matches left. However, Colombia’s offensive woes have gotten out of control. Their last goal in a competitive match came in September, meaning they have failed to score in six straight World Cup qualifying matches.
The current Colombia roster is at full strength, featuring proven stars like James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, Luis Diaz, and even veteran Radamel Falcao. But they’ve yet to find the right lineup that can put the ball in the back of the net. On the bright side, Colombia has only conceded two goals during those six scoreless matches.
Looking at the Argentina Stats
While there has been little doubt since qualifying began, Argentina knows it will be in Qatar later this year. The White and Sky Blues remain unbeaten in qualifying with nine wins and five losses. That includes a 2-1 road win over Chile last week.
The most impressive part of that win over Chile is that Argentina did it without Lionel Messi on the roster. Of course, even without the legendary Messi around, the Argentines still have plenty of offensive firepower.
Angel di Maria and Lautaro Martinez provided the goals against Chile. In fact, Martinez is now tied with Messi with six goals during qualifying.
Meanwhile, Argentina’s defensive prowess has been equally impressive during qualifying. They have allowed just seven goals in 14 qualifying matches, which isn’t easy in South America. Argentina had actually held six consecutive clean sheets until Chile slipped a goal past them in last week’s game.

Who to Bet Colombia at Argentina
The latest sports betting odds list Argentina as heavy home favorites in this match. Argentina’s moneyline is listed around -110, with Colombia’s moneyline around +310. Even for a draw, the odds are long at +230.
Even though Argentina has nothing on the line, there is plenty of talent and depth on the roster. Given Colombia’s scoring woes, a draw might be asking too much, with an Argentina win being the most likely result.
