Jacobs vs Ryder Analysis
Daniel Jacobs Analysis
It’s been quite a successful time for Jacobs since his debut back in 2007. We all remember his big moment in 2014 after winning the WBA middleweight title, and to see him defend this title four times after that was certainly memorable.
In 2017, the Golden Gloves champ then surrendered the title to Kazakhstani professional boxer Gennadiy Golovkin. After this, Jacobs went on to win three in a row, which included the IBF middleweight title that he lost to Saul Canelo in 2019, right after his loss to Golovkin.
Known as the Miracle Man, Jacobs has belted several successes since his big moment; however, we haven’t seen much of him since his last fight in November 2020, when he challenged Gabriel Rosado in a controversial boxing episode.
John Ryder Analysis
Ryder’s professional debut season began in 2010. Known as The Gorilla, he’s fought in countless fights in a bid to compete against several titles.
To his determination, he finally won the interim WBA super-middleweight title years later in 2019. At that time, he had challenged Callum Smith for two titles, the WBA and The Ring super middleweight, but unfortunately didn’t win based on a unanimous decision.
Since then, Ryder won two in a row, and his recent highlight has to go to his fight against Jozef Jurko after beating him with a total knockout in September 2021.

Jacobs vs. Ryder Prediction
Jacobs and Ryder are two rather mature boxers who both have a good shot at gaining enough momentum in the division. We’ve only seen Ryder (30-5, 17KOs) stop once in his match against Nick Blackwell.
With the match that he’d lost to Smith, Ryder had managed to land a total of 185 punches, with roughly 6.1 being landed in every minute. During this time, the lead hook remained his main attack, while his last fight against Jurko saw him use his uppercut to win the game.
With Jacobs (37-3, 30KOs), he landed a total of 78 punches in his match against Rosado, who also happened to land the same number of punches.
With no double-digit strike, he was able to throw in 549 punches, where we saw 56 of those punches being power shots. In his fight against Alvarez, he landed 155 punches while Alvarez managed to score a total of 174 punches.
After a comparative assessment, we see that Jacobs seems to gain more stamina as the game progresses. In the last seven fights that he’s had, six of those had gone the distance, while Ryder only managed to see two of his seven fights go the distance.
When we compare Ryder against Jacobs on average rounds, we see that, on average, Ryder lasts 6.8 rounds while Jacobs lasts 10.6.
