For the next three years, Cinzano became the main sponsor of the MotoGP race. And like the last two times, the last sponsor’s name was replaced with Cinzano. It then became the Gran Premio Cinzano de Cataluña. After that, Aperol was the official sponsor and remained so until 2013.

Since 2014, Monster Energy has taken the baton and become the main sponsor of the event, hence the name Gran Premio Monster Energy de Cataluña. The first race happened in 1996, and Carlos Checa was the first rider to win the race, with Mick Doohan and Alex Criville joining him on the podium.
