Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis
The Warriors were upset by an up-and-coming Memphis Grizzlies squad on Tuesday. Ja Morant set the pace for Memphis in the win with 29 points and eight assists.
Steph Curry posted a triple-double for Golden State with a team-leading 27 points to go along with ten rebounds and ten assists. However, it was anything but an efficient game for Steph, who shot just 8-21 from the field and 2-9 from beyond the arc.
Steph has struggled with shot consistency over the past couple of weeks. But it is likely just a slump, and the game’s best-ever three-point shooter should be just fine moving forward.
Klay Thompson continued to impress in his return from injury with 14 points on 2-5 three-point shooting.
The Warriors have been better at home than on the road, but their road record is still impressive as it sits at 12-7 leading into Thursday’s action. Golden State is 9-9-1 ATS away from home as well.
They will look to jump back into the win column in Milwaukee on Thursday night.
Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis
The reigning champions are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. While they are 6-4 in their past ten games, the Bucks are just 1-4 over their last five contests.
Milwaukee simply lacked depth productivity in their recent loss against Charlotte. But Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton were fantastic in the game.
Giannis scored 26 points and added 13 rebounds and eight assists. Meanwhile, Middleton led Milwaukee with 27 points to go along with 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Jordan Nwora scored 18, and Wesley Matthews chipped in 13 points. And that was pretty much it. No other player scored more than 6 points, and the Bucks ended up falling short against the Hornets.
But the issues did not stop there. The Bucks turned the ball over 20 times in the loss. Middleton and Giannis combined for 13 of those turnovers.
However, it should be remembered that both of them were carrying the team on their back with Jrue Holiday out. They were trying to do a little bit too much, which led to all of the turnovers.
Nonetheless, the Bucks are 13-7 overall on their home floor. From a betting perspective, the team is the exact opposite 7-13 ATS at home.
Milwaukee will look to right the ship as they prepare to host the Warriors in this matchup.
Team Updates
Jrue Holiday is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s game as he recovers from an ankle ailment. This means that Giannis and Middleton could be in store for another high assist, high turnover effort in this game.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently said that Green is unlikely to join Golden State as they wrap up their current road trip. If this is indeed the case, Green would not return to the rotation until next week.
So far, so good for Klay Thompson since returning from a two-year injury-riddled absence. Klay scored 17 in his season debut and added 14 on Tuesday. Thompson is expected to start on Thursday against the Bucks but will be rested on Friday in the second of a back-to-back in a matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
- Golden State is 23-15-2 ATS this season.
- Milwaukee is 19-24 ATS this year.
- The Warriors are 9-9-1 ATS away from home.
- The Bucks are 7-13 ATS at home.
Golden State Warriors at Milwaukee Bucks Betting Preview
Both of these NBA teams are missing their main distributors and playmakers. Draymond Green, who leads Golden State in both assists and rebounds, has been ruled out for Thursday. The same can be said for Jrue Holiday, who is the Bucks leader in assists.
As a result, both teams have not been playing their best brand of basketball over the last week or so. But that means we should be in store for a competitive matchup between two of the NBA’s most talented, albeit short-handed teams.
But Milwaukee has performed well at home, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is the kind of player liable to lead his team to victory on any given night. I like the Bucks to steal a win late in this contest.
