Overview
The Phoenix Suns (59-14) and Denver Nuggets (43-30) prepare to face off in a Western Conference Thursday night showdown.
Last games records
Phoenix just keeps winning. The Suns have won six games in a row and have only lost twice during the month of March. They most recently defeated the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
The Nuggets rebounded from a minor two-game losing streak with a victory over the Clippers on Tuesday. Denver is currently sixth in the West.
The season series is tied at one apiece between Phoenix and Denver. The Nuggets won the first head-to-head matchup in Phoenix, but the Suns got their revenge at home in the following game.
Matchup Information
Let’s take a look at the NBA betting odds for this game.
Suns at Nuggets Betting Analysis
Phoenix Suns Betting Analysis
Phoenix continues to expand their lead in the Western Conference standings. They are the clear favorites to win the conference moving forward without question.
The Suns covered a narrow spread in their Wednesday 125-116 road victory over Minnesota. DeAndre Ayton stepped up and scored 35 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Phoenix. Devin Booker added 28 points and seven assists.
Phoenix will look to add another victory in the second of a road back-to-back. Winning this game will be challenging after traveling from Minnesota to Denver on Wednesday night, but the Suns are certainly a team capable of getting the job done despite those odds.
Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis
Denver will enter Thursday’s action with a necessary rest advantage, as teams need any help they can get against this scorching hot Suns squad right now.
The Nuggets earned a solid 127-115 win at home against the Clippers on Tuesday. Nikola Jokic continued his run for MVP with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. Bones Hyland, Aaron Gordon, and Jeff Green all added 16 points each as well.
Denver shot over 54 percent from the field and hit exactly half of their three-point attempts as well. That kind of offensive showing will earn you victories most of the time.
However, producing that kind of offense against Phoenix will prove to be challenging. Denver is going to need to step up on defense and limit Ayton and Booker.
If the Nuggets can limit turnovers and win the rebound battle, they will find themselves with a chance to earn the home win.
Updates
Phoenix’s Chris Paul has made a speedy recovery from his thumb injury and is expected to return sometime this week. There were initial reports that he could have returned Wednesday against Minnesota, but he was ultimately ruled out. However, that means there is a chance that Paul returns Thursday in Denver.
Betting guides may need to be updated for this game if CP3 ends up being active on Thursday.
Cameron Johnson is still recovering from a quad injury and missed his ninth consecutive game on Wednesday. He is reportedly getting closer to returning, but his status for Thursday has not yet been announced.
- Phoenix is 40-33 ATS this season.
- Denver is 34-39 ATS this year.
- The Nuggets are 14-21 ATS at their home arena.
- The Suns are 22-13 ATS on the road.
Suns at Nuggets Betting Preview
Plenty of NBA picks will be used on Denver given their rest and home-court advantage on Thursday. While that is certainly understandable, I do not like the idea of betting against the Suns right now. Phoenix not only holds the NBA’s best record, but they are also the hottest team in the league at the current moment.
Suns at Nuggets Betting Prediction
Take the Phoenix Suns.
How to Bet on Suns at Nuggets
The majority of top sportsbooks list Denver as a home favorite which provides bettors with an excellent opportunity to roll with the Suns as an underdog. It is not too often you get the chance to bet on the best team in basketball as an underdog, so I would certainly recommend rolling with Phoenix on Thursday night.
