The No. 15 Iowa State Cyclones (13-2) and No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks (12-2) prepare to battle on Tuesday at the Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 P.M. EST.
The Cyclones have enjoyed a successful campaign but lost their last contest against Oklahoma on Saturday.
Kansas also lost on Saturday against Texas Tech. The Jayhawks were upset on the road by a final score of 75-67.
In what projects to be an exciting matchup, both Kansas and Iowa State will try to jump back in the win column on Tuesday night.
Iowa State at Kansas Betting Preview
Iowa State Cyclones Preview: Move On
The Cyclones simply could not get things going in their recent defeat at the hands of Oklahoma. Despite a pair of 20 point performances from Izaiah Brockington and Tyrese Hunter, Iowa State lost 79-66.
The Cyclones defense was unable to limit the Sooner offensive attack. Oklahoma did a good job taking high-quality shots and taking care of the basketball. Iowa State did not even play all that bad in the game; however, they were unquestionably outperformed by the Sooners.
It looked as if the Cyclones were on the verge of closing out the game following a 7-2 run and a 9 point lead to begin the second half. But Oklahoma came roaring back and ended up taking the lead and never looked back.
The Cyclones need to put this game in the rearview and move on. They have played great this season, and they simply ran into a team that was determined to win.
Kansas Jayhawks Preview: Take Care of the Basketball
Kansas was taken down by a short-handed Texas Tech team on Saturday.
Even with a 24 point performance from Ochai Agbaji and 20 points from Jalen Wilson, Kansas could now overcome Texas Tech. Their main issue was taking care of the basketball, as the Jayhawks turned the ball over 17 times in the loss.
But this is a good team, and they will bounce back. As long as Kansas takes care of the ball against Iowa State, there will be a good chance for redemption.
We can also expect Agbaji to continue playing at an elite level. The guard is having a terrific season with averages of 20.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest. He is a young leader who should help his team get back on track.
Who to Bet on Cyclones at Jayhawks
Kansas is favored to win by a large margin at home, according to the majority of sportsbooks. This will be an interesting game to keep tabs on and see how these teams perform from an effort standpoint following their recent losses.
I would expect both Iowa State and Kansas to come out on the aggressive and play a physical, hard-fought game.
However, the Jayhawks should be able to emerge victorious in front of their home faithful on Tuesday night.
