Auburn at Texas A&M Betting Analysis
On the Auburn Tigers side
Sophomore running back Tank Bigsby has been playing well this season as he has 125 rushing attempts for 666 yards (5.3 yards per carrying) with seven rushing touchdowns. In his last game against the Rebels, Bigsby finished with 23 attempts for 140 yards (6.1 yards per rush) with a touchdown. The Tigers need to continue to create open holes if they want to continue being a force in college football.
The Tigers are good defensively this season as they are giving up 19.8 points per game. In their previous game against the Ole Miss Rebels, Auburn allowed 20 points on 464 total yards of offense (307 passing, 157 rushings). The Rebels went just 6-of-15 on third down and 1-of-4 on fourth down attempts. They were able to limit Ole Miss to go 7.3 yards per passing attempt. If they continue to improve defensively, it will be a great spot here for them.
On the Texas A&M Aggies side
The Texas A&M Aggies have been running the football exceptionally efficiently. Junior running back Isaiah Spiller has 123 carries for 761 rushing yards (6.2 yards per rush) with five touchdowns on the ground and 21 receptions for 179 yards (8.5 yards per catch) with a touchdown through the air. In his last game against the Gamecocks, Spiller finished with 18 rushes for 102 yards (5.7 yards per run) with a touchdown and three catches for 20 yards (6.7 yards per reception). If he can continue to get his touches, Texas A&M will be a solid program.
The Aggies have been a solid defensive program as they are allowing 16.1 points per game this year. In their previous match against the South Carolina Gamecocks, they gave up 14 points on 185 total yards of offense (114 passing, 71 rushings). The Gamecocks are 3-of-13 on third down and failed to convert their only fourth-down attempt. The Aggies defended the run well as they allowed just 2.3 rushing yards per carrying. If they can repeat this performance, they will be in the driver’s seat.
Tigers at Aggies Prediction
These are two very similar programs built to run the football well and defend at a high rate. Bo Nix has been throwing the football very effectively as he has just two interceptions, while Zach Calzada has thrown an interception more than once every 30 passing attempts. Auburn is dominating the clock as of late and limiting the scoring opportunities for their opponents. The Auburn Tigers have covered in their last four road games against the Texas A&M Aggies. All in all, go with the Tigers to cover the spread on the road here.
