The 2023 college football season is nearing a close as there is just one full week of the NCAAF schedule remaining. It has been another terrific year, and there is no doubt that you are going to find some exciting bowl college football matchups.
Now that the regular season is coming to a close, it’s a great time to check out the Heisman Trophy odds. This is one of the most prestigious NCAAF awards handed out in all of sports, and there are a ton of serious contenders to look at this weekend.
Here is a look at the Heisman Trophy odds heading into the final week of the college football season.
Heisman Trophy Odds
Player | Odds |
---|---|
Caleb Williams | +110 |
Bo Nix | +110 |
Jayden Daniels | +125 |
Michael Penix Jr. | +500 |
Marvin Harrison Jr. | +3000 |
Carson Beck | +4000 | Jalen Milroe | +10000 |
Two Clear Favorites
The current Heisman Trophy odds look much different than they did at the beginning of the year, and they have been changing quite a bit. Caleb Williams was expected to win a second straight award this season, but his USC team has struggled in a big way.
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is currently the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy 2023 as he now has College Football odds set at +110. Daniels is playing for a team that is not going to reach the College Football Playoffs, but it might not matter to the voters.
Daniels has been putting up some monster numbers all season long, but he has been getting even better lately. The LSU star can not only make all of the big throws, but he can also scramble and make plays with his legs.
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix isn’t too far behind in the Heisman Trophy race as he currently has odds set at +120. Nix wasn’t really even considered to be in contention up until about a few weeks ago, but he just continues to shine at the QB position.
There have been many other players that you could have considered a favorite at one point this season, but now that is down to just two. Things can still change in a big way in the final week of the regular season, but it appears that either of these two college football players has the award locked up.
Best of the Rest
Even though it appears that there are two clear leaders for this award, voters are still going to consider some other players. There really is only one other player who appears to be a serious contender, but that doesn’t mean that other players won’t get some votes.
Michael Penix Jr. is currently listed at +500 to win the Heisman Trophy and he is more than talented enough to get it done. Penix has the Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 Championship Game and is arguably the best pure passer in the country.
NCAAF odds really tend to fall off from there as you will see Marvin Harrison Jr. at +3000 and Carson Beck at +4000. You would obviously get a massive payday if one of those players were to win the award, but it just doesn’t seem likely at this stage of the season.
The Pick is In
Nearly all of the most recent Heisman Trophy winners have come from the quarterback position, and that is where you should be looking this year as well. Caleb Williams seemed to be on a path to wrapping this thing up yet again, but the Trojans went into a massive tailspin.
Bo Nix will get some serious consideration because the Oregon Ducks have been better than the LSU Tigers this season. Nix has also had more help around him as well, and that’s something that the voters will consider.
Jayden Daniels has been the best player in the country this season, and that is going to matter in the end. Bet on Jaylen Daniels at +110 to win the 2023 Heisman Trophy Award.
