The UT Martin Skyhawks travel to Athens, Georgia, to battle the Bulldogs of Georgia on Saturday. The Skyhawks are out of the Ohio Valley Conference and members of the Division 1 FCS football. They finished in a tie with Southeast Missouri State for the conference title. And lost the automatic bid to the playoffs due to a tiebreaker.
A season ago, the Skyhawks beat Western Illinois to start the season but then fell in back-to-back games at Missouri State and Boise State. The Skyhawks also played Tennessee a season ago and fell by 41 points.
For the Georgia Bulldogs, it was business as usual, winning their second straight national title. The Bulldogs won the SEC title game 50-30 over LSU, then beat Ohio State in the College Football semi-final 42-41 before smashing TCU in the title game 65-7.

UT Martin Skyhawks vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview
Jason Simpson returns for his 18th season as the head coach of the Skyhawks. He has won over 100 games in his career. The Skyhawks are also back-to-back conference champions in the Ohio Valley.
This year’s team will be a challenge for Simpson, as they will look to replace 14 guys who were on the all-conference list a season ago. But expectations are high as Daylon Dotson, Gavin Olson, and DJ Nelson are all guys who are expected to have huge seasons for the Skyhawks.
Kinkead Dent comes into the season as the starting quarterback. After playing in 17 games at Ole Miss, he transferred as a graduate. He will certainly do his best to keep the Skyhawks in this game, but against the daunting defense of Georgia, it may not be the best place for his first start with the program.
Ygenio Booker, Jordan Castleberry, and Narkel Leflore are listed as lead running backs for the program, with Corey Harris Jr., a freshman coming into the program from Florida. The Skyhawks could be a wait-and-see program, trying to figure out what works best for them in 2023.
The Georgia Bulldogs are excited about the addition of Dominic Lovett, a transfer receiver from Missouri. He will join Ladd McConkey as a great core of receivers.
But, don’t forget that one of the best tight ends in all of College football, Brock Bowers, is returning. Bowers caught 63 passes for 942 yards and seven touchdowns. McConkey also had seven touchdowns for the Bulldogs in 2022 as well.
Stetson Bennett is gone. Finally, opponents will no longer see Stetson Bennett lining up behind center. The jury is still out on Carson Beck, but he will get the first look for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs. Kendall Milton looks to be the first in line for carries as the running back for the Bulldogs.
Milton was third in rushing yards a season ago, with eight. The Georgia Bulldogs schedule is quite soft leading up to SEC play, so look for the Bulldogs to let Beck try a few things out early.
UT Martin Skyhawks vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Prediction
One of our College Football Hot Picks for today: This is not going to go well for the Skyhawks. According to the UT Martin Skyhawks football lines, this one should be a blowout!
While they may have another really nice season, they are going to start 0-1. They are likely going to get shut out as well. Sure, Georgia has some new faces on defense, but they will still be elite. We will give them a little credit and allow them a field goal, but that’s it.
In the end, barring any late additions to the college football injury report, the Bulldogs win this game 56-3 over the Skyhawks. Bet Georgia -45 over UT Martin on Saturday. Enjoy our UT Martin vs Georgia betting analysis!
